I knew the engines were upgraded because there had been a shift in the warp scale to 10 being infinite speed when previously the scale had gone higher. Wasn't sure on the shields though.

Like I said all I remembered was him ticking off Geordi and complaining about lack of real alcohol.

Wasn't sure on the shields though. - I believe the photon torpedoes a targeting systems are upgrade on the D as well, I distinctly remember them doing a weapon test. On new armaments, ill see if I can find the clip.

They did. I don't remember what all it did but they did. - Ill try to find that episode, see if it gives us any numbers. The Connie is a tough old Bird but I don't see her out fighting a Galaxy Class, especially taking into account the separation feature, effectively giving the Galacy class a numbers advantage.

Yeah I was actually going to ask if the Constitution class has the separation feature but you already answered that now. But yeah that will be problematic for Kirk's crew, plus Picard's a willy bastard, remember the Starship Mine (I think that was the episode) where he was stuck on the Enterprise alone against those smugglers stealing...some kind of unstable particle...can't remember it's name.

The Constitution has a saucer sep mode, but I don't believe it's cannon.

Lady Ruliyayou mean like in a Kirk era story it happened? Because the ship class got a refit in the Picard era with modified engines and stuff so it might be canon to newer versions but not to this particular Constitution?

It was Kirks ship. It was from a Picture done by Doug Drexlar I think. And by not cannon I mean it's Extended Universe, so non-cannon.
It might have happened in a book too, but I haven't read many TOS books.

Looked it up the TOS episode the Apple was going to have the Separation but the effect was too expensive, however for the Enterprise it was a dangerous emergency procedure to escape with no known tactical uses like those shown with the Enterprise-D and other Galaxy Class ships.

This is a good match in theory, if we go by feats and feats alone the, Connie can probably take it. But that doesn't sit well with me being that the ships are both in the same universe and the D is around 80 years ahead. It's like putting a f-16 against a ww1 bi- plane. And that's only 40-50 years of real world tech separation.

well if we look at just the ships I would think a comparision with naval vessels would be more apt but I see what your saying.

Which feats can out damage a Galaxy pahser drilling to the core of a planet it minutes? - No clue, like I said my Knowledge on TOS is minimal at best, - For the Lol," general order 24. The infamous 45 minute life wipe statement" but I know better than to use that in seriousness
