The NCC-1701 USS Enterprise Constitution Class Heavy Cruiser crewed by Captain James Tiberius Kirk and his crew today goes up against the NCC-1701-D USS Enterprise Galaxy Class Explorer crewed by Captain Jean-Luc Picard and his crew. On the one hand the Enterprise D is a larger somewhat more advanced ship with engines on the newer warp scale (meaning likely faster) on the other hand Kirk is one of the most resourceful bastards and his crew is one of the most clever and resourceful, but then again Picard and his crew are close to if not equal to them in resourcefulness...so this battle could end up coming down to who can pull off the most so insane it has to work strategy and doesn't get countered first. What say you debaters?

You posted it, cool. Ok, I think that Kirk might have a slight edge over Picard because, while Picard and his crew have pulled off some crazy things, Kirk is a little bit more reckless/unpredictable , and while both care extremely for their crews, Kirk (imo)would be quicker to use an extremely risky and unorthodox plan then Picard would. On a side note, how fun would it be to watch Spock and Data try to out science each other. ----------

That would be interesting, though Data has a thought speed edge on Spock. - also sorry I haven't been able to post Digimon vs Pokemon, been busy and stuck on my phone.

Yes, lets focus on the match. Well I am not a huge star trek buff, I watched both the original and the next generation but it has been a while a since I last watch them. I do remember the original a little better so Ill side with them for now. ============

I'll side with NG then, as they do have a larger ship at 643 meters long compared to the Constitution classes 289 meters. In the updated Warp Scale (after 10 became infinite speed) the Constitution has a max warp speed of 8 with 9 being emergency speed. The Galaxy class (the Enterprise D) has a max speed of 9.2 with the ability to go 9.9 for 10 minutes so despite being the larger ship they also have the speed advantage, maneuverability may be a different story though, I'm not sure. The Galaxy class has the same amount of phaser arrays 14 each and 2 photon torpedo launchers each, I don't know how many the Constitution Class has but the Galaxy contains 250 photon torpedoes able to fire five at a time from either one, so Kirks Enterprise is up against some serious firepower.

Well said GA. Any way I think, un-till corrected we could assume that they both have 250 total Torpedoes. As to Kirks Enterprise, I am sure they have faced dismal odds against superior ships before. Kind of hoping that some one with more..... intimate knowledge of star trek than I would show up. I am trying to re watch both the original and the next generation on netflix but progress is going slow. ========

Oh I know they've faced dismal odds, though could be said for both of the Enterprises

A point that should be touched on is the NG crew's knowledge of the Connie class and crew it's not unreasonable to assume Data has near instant acess to the detailed schematics and can exploit any structural weaknesses. Deanna Troi should have access to Psych profiles of the older crew. I'm sure the NG crew all have some insight and study of previous Enterprises.

wasn't there an episode where a really old Scotti hung out with Geordi. - Yeah the TNG crew found Scotty trapped inside the transporter buffer of some station, they got him out and he still is alive as of Current incarnation exploring in a shuttle. Scotty wanted to help out on the E-D but was out of his time and tech, and just managed to get in the way.

dassadecthought so, didn't know about Bones, but I remembered parts of Scotty, like him getting in the way...and complaining about the lack of real alcohol.

Well the obvious technological advances made in shielding, propulsion, offensive and defensive capabilities not withstanding, could be an interesting match up.
Also, Mister Scott was trapped on a transport shuttle, not a station, that had been pulled into the Dyson Sphere's gravity well and crashed on its surface ;P
