Brunwulf
The Khajite shrugged the hand off his shoulder, scoffing at the Coris's threat. "You think those words scare me?bah I have heard them many times all ended with the one who spoke them laying in their own blood." The bandit leader lept back and gave the order to attack.
Brunwulf, injured as he was, closed in on the one with the iron war hammer. "This milk drinker is mine!!" He bellowed.

Crius
Crius was pleased to see this outcome. "Time for you to dance for my amusement!" He unleashed the flame bolt in his hand at the feet of his first target, specifically the khajit. The Khajit was knocked backwards onto his back, he was given no respite as Crius unleashed lightning from his fingers at the Khajit highwayman. He let out a sinister chuckle as the Khajit writhed in pain. Oh no this one would be his slave for Crius's entertainment for the next couple of hours. But first to take care of that meddlesome archer in the distance as another arrow pinged off the back of his shoulder, no mere iron arrows would pierce his armor. As he ceased the flow of lightning from his fingers the Khajit dipped into unconsciousness.
Crius turned around as he felt another arrow try and harm him, this time getting a general area of where the archer was. His eyes were unable to pinpoint the area so instead he decided to flush them out. Preparing a familiar he released a spectral wolf to find and flush out this hidden archer. The spectral familiar sniffed the air before growling, commencing pursuit of the hidden archer.

Brunwulf
An ice spike ripped into the spectral wolf as the Dark Elf spellsword moved in closer to Coris; the unseen archer changed position and fired again, his arrows targeting the joints and eye sockets in Coris's armor. Brunwulf noted this as he side stepped the bandit's iron warhammer strike, the head slamming down hard on the ground. "A lot of power in that swing of yours," Brunwulf said as he slammed the ebony blade through the bandits fur armor and up under the rib cage, sliding it in up to the hilt, "But your form was sloppy." He yanked the blade out, blood gushed from the wound as the man collapsed to the ground dead. An Orc bandit ran from behind the large rock and checked the khajit's pulse, slowly standing to his feat, his axe flashed in the light. "You will pay for this MAGE!" he screamed, charging Coris.

Crius
Crius tilted his head 'Three to one? They should have brought more.' With that said his right hand became incased in lightning as he released it towards the spell sword on his right. The Orc was closing in fast, he would have a good chance to get close far too close. 'But no more of that.' With that his left hand was encased in frost as he froze the ground at the Orc's feet causing him to slip and fall disorienting him for a few moments. A few moments Crius needed as he was preparing his other hand, however the hidden archer released his next shot and perhaps his best shot in his whole career. Crius grunted with pain as an arrow slipped itself into the back of his leg specifically above his knee.
He could deal with it in a moment as he focused his full attention on the spell sword unleashing three bolts of lightning in his hands vaporizing the spellsword within the three strikes. As he now had a quick moment's respite he turned to recognize his wound. 'By Magnus's light I'd never believe it if I saw it myself. This archer had in his quill an ebony arrow. Though it appears it was his only one seeing as the rest of these miserable arrows were petty iron arrows.' His few moments of respite were over as the Orc arose from his fallen position and released a war cry charging once more at Crius with his axe in hand. Seeing as he had no desire to no longer be in this fight he summoned a frost atronarch to fight in his stead. The frozen being walked over to meet the orc head on.
Crius on the other hand casted a spell of invisibility on himself as he limped slightly to find cover behind a rock from the hidden archer. 'Note to self, disembowel this archer for his shot.'

Brunwulf
Brunwulf saw the Orc engage the frost atronarch, 'that orc is good,' he thought as the Orc slipped into his berserker rage and began driving the atronarch back, 'cant handle him in my current state.' He saw that Jun was closing in on the Orc, an arrow zipped past him and nearly struck Jun in the head. 'But that archer....I can handle him.' Brunwulf moved behind a tree and listened, he heard a stick snap off to his right as the archer changed position. 'Got you!' he shouted in his had and sprung from his hiding place. The eyes of the bosmer went wide as the large nord sprung towards him, his bow snapped up, the arrow already flying towards Brunwulf before he had took two steps. Instinctively his sword arm shot up to block, the iron arrow punching through the back of his hand. The ebony sword hit the ground as he back pedaled into a tree. The archer dropped his bow, drawing a steel dagger since he had run out of arrows. 'Damn,' Brunwulf thought as the bandit closed in........

"Green skin". Jun said as he approached the raging orc. "WHAT DID YOU CALL ME"! It roared. When it turned its head toward the source of the voice it caught a blast of flame. The distraction gave the Atronach an opening to ram an arm through the Orcs chest. Jun shook his head. "Too weak". "Malacath aak hi". (Malacath guide you). He looked towards the nord. Thinking his companion was just toying with the bandit, he just watched.

Brunwulf
As the woodelf closed the gap, Brunwolf clenched his arrow pierced hand into a fist with a grunt of pain. "Come get me knife-ear!" He shouted, the slur putting an enraged look in the Elf's eyes. Back and forth the dagger was swung, Brunwulf side stepping with ease. "No wonder your an archer," he goaded, "I've seen children handle blades better than you!" The bosmer shouted in anger and thrust forward, Brunwulf leaping to one side as the dagger was imbeded into a tree trunk. He took the moment to slam his fist into the Elf's face sending him stumbling backwards, unarmed, he landed in a sitting position on the forest floor. Brunwulf closed in, noticing to late that the Elf landed near where he had dropped the ebony sword. The bandit lunged for the sword only to have the wolf pup burst from beneath a bush and maul his hand. Brunwulf slammed his foot heard into the elf's rib cage causing him to roll over onto his back, gasping for the air that had left his lungs. Brunwulf knelt on his chest, punching the man's face repeatedly until his own knuckles bled. The Elf looked up at him through swollen eyes, barely conscious. "Hey archer," Brunwulf said coldly, flattening his hand out so the arrow head pointed down, "heres your arrow back." With that he slammed his hand down over one of the Elf's eyes, the arrow head lodging itself in his brain. Brunwulf raised his hand, letting the arrow's shaft slowly pull out the other end. Brunwulf stood, he and the pup walking over to Jun, "what happened to Coris? Where did he go?"

Crius
Crius dispelled the invisibility over himself as he heard the query of where he went. He arose to his full height as he now had a chance to pluck the arrow from his leg. Now that he had a chance to observe the arrow in his hand he raised an eyebrow in curiosity 'Poison?' He chuckled as he dropped the arrow onto the ground as his minute limp was there. Though he made no sounds of pain, no a mere arrow shouldn't even incite a grunt of pain. 'A moment of weakness, it shall not happen again.' Now that he saw the makeshift battlefield he turned his head towards the duo.
"Good work you two, my leg it seems require a moment's respite as I do what medical magic I can to repair it." He lied he just wanted to grab one of the dead bandits and feed, it would prove as a much more effective means to recover. The Khajit on the other hand, he had plans for him.

Brunwulf
"We should reach White run by night fall if we keep on the road." Brunwulf replied, looking down the road. "Hopefully the road is clear....don't think I can take much more with out seeing a healer."

Brunwulf
"Wait!" he called, but Jun was already out of earshot. Brunwulf sighed, and started to walk after him, the wolf pup in tow, "Come on Coris, he's going to get himself into trouble."

Crius
Crius mentally sighed as it seemed he'd have no chance to feed and that Khajit...he needed him for other purposes. So with some annoyance he snapped his fingers and two skeletons appeared. Pointing to the knocked out Khajit and the dead orc he would suffice as a meal, the two skeletons picked up each one and without another word followed Crius as he walked with as little sign of a limp as possible behind Brunwulf.

Gaius Tavarus:
Gaius stood on one of the towers along the wall of Solitude overlooking the lake below. More specifically he was watching the construction of the small temporary arena on one of the nearby lake islands. It wasn't fancy but it would do for his purposes. The guard captain came over to him as he stood and cleared his throat as if to catch Gaius's attention. Gaius waited a moment before turning to respond.
"Can I help you Captain?" He spoke his voice calm.
"Uhm...yes sir...I was just wondering...this tournament you are setting up....is it really necessary for choosing the right warriors? Surely a demonstration of the Holds guards would yield better results."
"I'm sorry, could you speak up? For a moment there...." Gaius drew one of his dragonbone swords gleaming a light red with enchantment with a swift motion resting the blade against the mans throat "...it sounded like you were questioning the order of the Empress's sword. But surely the Captain of the Solitude Guard is not nearly that stupid and suicidal."
"N...no sir I I didn't mean to imply..."
"The Mighty Dragonborn Empress has tasked me with putting together a task force to deal with the growing Dwemer threat. She has given me full freedom to use what methods I see fit to find the warriors for this task. If you question my methods you question her methods. Is that clear?"
"yes...sir....but...the reward...a...five million Septims? Isn't that excessive?"
"I want to draw out the best of the best, if you want to catch the biggest fish you use the finest bait and lure. If you want the best warriors in Tamriel, you offer them money enough to buy anything they desire. Now...." Gaius drew the blade along the mans throat leaving a thin red line barely piercing the skin. "Any other not questions?"
"N...no...sir.....well....just one....with so many people...isn't this tournament.....asking for a Dwemer attack?"
"Exactly."
"I don't understand...what do you mean by that."
"I mean, I'm hoping the people I'm looking for will be testing their mettle against more than drunken sellswords and guards who complain about old war injuries."
"....a...are you insane sir."
Gaius sheathed his sword. "My good captain a race of Mer thought long gone from reality is returning and slaughtering the citizens of the Empire. Automotons crawl from the depths of ruins to raid cities and villages. I dare say we do not quite live in an age of sanity anymore. Now I suggest you return to your post in case the Dwemer decide they'd like to live in Solitude." The man nodded and left rubbing his neck nervously as he did. Gaius turned back towards the edge of the wall and looked out to the distant horizon. He was looking forward to seeing what warriors his tournament attracted.

Hjordis Stern-Front
By dusk she had finally tracked her quarry to a large grotto up in the mountain directly north of Solitude, arriving from the south-east she passed a lighthouse that smelled like Khajiit near the base on her way up the right side. Even from the entrance a strong stench of blood and carcasses emanated for it's depths.
'This is definitely a vampire den' she thought as she drew a blade and walked into the dark dank passage.
Her first encounter was mere feet past when the place became truly dark, a vigil. Before he could yell to signal her intrusion she plunged her sword horizontally into his mouth and out the back of his skull, which severed his fangs, and grabbed the top of his cranium as he gurgled, slashed sideways and opened his head like a chest, blood splashing up from the hole making a pitiful fountain.
As she exited the entrance tunnel, two more sentinels stood on either side. However instead of yelling for alarm as the vigil did they decided that a pair of vampires could handle a sword-maiden, no matter how imposing, and they both charged at her, going directly for the bite. She gripped the left one by the throat, firmly right below the jaw, stopping his attack cold for the moment. The right attacker was faster though an she only managed to stab her blade through her shoulder, which partly neutralized her right arm but didn't deter her much otherwise as she clawed at Hjordis' face with her left. The warrior countered the attempt by biting off two fingers and the tip of a third; recoiling in both surprise and pain the female bloodsucker quickly hopped back, unembedding the sword from her shoulder. Hjordis stepped forward just as quickly, dragging behind the other vampire by his neck, and lopped her head off. Without missing a beat she then immediately threw the remaining sentinel to the ground next to the fresh undead corpse and planted her sword into his skull through the middle of his face.
She withdrew the blade, slid it across the female body to clean it somewhat and sniffed around for directions. This cave was deep and it's denizens many, she would be here a while.
