The Elder Scrolls RP: Dwemer Risinga Roll Playing story by Shadowknight (Disclaimer: I do not own the Elder Scrolls series, nor am I trying to steel from them. Just using their world to have a bit fun......so don't freak out. I also found that image on google images...not mine is what I'm saying)Fifteen years have past since the end of the Civil War in the land of Skyrim, fifteen years of peace and rebuilding under the firm and just leadership of The Dragonborn Empress; however, like all times of peace....it didn't last. The Empress, a warrior at heart, had broke the White-Gold Concordat and Lead her armies to battle against the Aldmari Dominion. To the Dominion's surprise, the Empire was well prepared for war this time around and the battle fields were deadlocked, if ever so slightly in the empires favor. Without warning a new super power emerged in the middle of this struggle, a race of mer virtually forgotten have struck with armies of machines, flying contraptions, and magics the likes of which have never been seen. Will you answer the call? Will you take up arms against this new menace as an uneasy alliance forms between bitter enemies? Or will all fall before the DWEMER RISING!!!

The sun shown dimly through overcast skys as a bitter north wind swept across the sea of ghosts, howling past the great glaciers that drift through its freezing depths. It is Loredas the 1st day of Frostfall, 4E 217, an Imperial convoy, two escort ships & some cargo vessels) set sail from Solitude 3 days prior, their destination the imperial city. The Captains of each vessel keep sharp, they know the sea is a cruel mistress.....the Sea of Ghosts even more so, many a sunken wreck liter its icy depths; wrecks which often left no survivors. As the first fingers of darkness snaked through the murky sky, a civilian ship sailing from Raven Rock came into view of the convoy, cautiously traversing the ice fields as it made its way towards Hammerfall. The ships were nearly even when the first crack of lightning ripped across the dark sky, black clouds swirled and danced in the icy void above the waves. The sound of men screaming was swallowed by the wind as the ships burst into flames. Wood splinter, sailors turned to ash as lightning rained down like the wrath of the Nine Divines on to the four vessels......and then it was over. As swiftly as it had appeared, the storm of death had dissipated, the Sea of Ghosts adding four more hulls to its black depths. Be it luck or divine intervention, three souls survived the onslaught, washing up on the frozen shore.........

Brunwulf War-Bear
Brunwulf shuddered, his body shocked from its time in the frozen water, as he hauled his large frame out of the dark waves. His fingers digging deep into the dark soil as he drug himself forward. 'By the nine,' he though as he stopped, coughing out water 'That.....that wasn't a storm...no storm has lightning that frequent....that consistent.' Slowly he rose to his knees, his body acclimating to the cold quickly thanks to his nordic blood, and looked around for any signs of other survivors through the evening gloom.

Laying on the cold wet soil, a statuesque warrior-woman pushed herself off the ground and began taking in the surroundings. A thickly built blond man, a nord like her, and a warrior too. A smaller, much more slender man, drapped in vermillion, a breton. No settlement in sight, the ship they were on already gone beneath the sea, along with the ones they had come across. Next she unsheated her blades and swung them through the air so as to dry them up, then checked her rocksack, all the plants and extracts were damp and torn, a complete loss it seemed.

Crius
As Crius stood in his mystic armor soaked with water he found it at best to be a slight inconvenience. As he turned his head to get a feel for his surroundings he saw that two others had survived the assault from their assailants. 'Most likely the Dwemer have found a means to attack from above.' He deemed it necessary to have these twos work with him in order to complete his objectives in this war.

Brunwulf War-Bear
Brunwulf stood and made his way towards the woman who washed up a dozen or so yards from him, taking note of the armored breton who was looking at the sky. "Fine evening for a swim, no?" He quipped, his whiterun accented voice carrying over the crashing waves as he approached her.

As she was going through the contents of her bag the other Nord approached her, she glanced his way before turning as she sheathed her swords and swung their straps back over her shoulder.
"Hmph". The tone was low, composed and strong.

Brunwulf War-Bear
'A bundle of laughs this one is' he thought as he admired her blades craftsmenship, "Not one for small talk I take it," he said, ringing out his water loged belted tunic as best he could, "understandable considering we were just attacked by the sky." He saw the armored breton stalking closer to them, something seemed off about his movements but he couldn't quite place it. "Seeing as my gear is resting at the bottom of the sea it looks like you'll be dealing with him should he be.....less than friendly"

Hjordis Stern-Front
She looked at the nearby Breton, he seemed odd, his stance or his gait perhaps. Turning her attention to his direction she briefly sniffed the air.
"He smells like death"

Crius
He saw that the two Nords were watching him as he approached. He stopped several feet from the duo as he spoke up. "Greetings I assume you're both part of the Imperial Legion?" He decided to be direct as Nords hated subversive tactics.

Her brow furrowed somewhat as the Breton spoke. His breathing was off too. She shimmied the strap holding her swords towards the edge of her shoulder.
"No"

Brunwulf shook his head at the question, " No, not for a long time now." He felt there eyes on him. "Retired." He added for clarification.

He nodded as the two gave their responses. "Very well, I suggest you two move inland. For our mysterious assailants may come around to confirm all have perished." He said in passing as he started to walk inland.

Silently she made her way inland, never letting the Breton out of her view, swords strap still on her shoulder.

Brunwulf War-Bear
The group moved slowly across the frozen landscape as night set in. "I think we should bunker up for the night." He said, breaking the silence while ducking a low tree branch. "Can't see a thing through the snow fall." The hair on the back of his neck went rigid, the others felt it to by their body language, they were being watched. Off to the right a dozen low growls rippled from the darkness. "Would you mind lending me a blade?" He asked his stoic female companion "would make thinning out this pack a little easier." A sudden roar to their left jerked his attention from the Ice Wolf pack, and towards three large , white felines. "Caught between a wolf pack and three saber cats at night during a blizzard......welcome home Brunwulf." He thought out loud as the, three unlikely companions slid back to back.
