Not just darkspawn blood, it takes some Archdemon blood too, and a "preparation" that they never explained. I didn't say The Warden was needed, just saying s/he's the main reason it's so easy to do in DA:O. No one in Middle Earth ever creates tornadoes of flames or stun-locks an entire room with one arrow or takes a dragon head on one-on-one and wins

You dumped those poor Darkspawn under Moria?
I don't think many of them make it out to see the daylight.

The Moria isn't that dangerous, there's just orcs and one Balrog

Well, I did that because it was the closest thing I could find to the Dead trenches/deep roads/lost Dwarven kingdoms in DA:O. Besides, the Darkspawn will dig their own tunnels if they cant find a way out.

Well that's the thing, Could the Archdemon take on a Balrog? Or would the Balrog crush the Archdemon? I'd say the Darkspawn would be about equal to the armies of Orcs, goblins, and Uruk Hai. Hell, ME have plenty of Cave Trolls to take on the... bigger brutes I forget what they're called. Plus things like the Eagles and Nazgul. The 9 kings who can't be killed by anything the Darkspawn have. Plus the armies of the south, you see in the Return of the King, with a ton of Elephonts (or however it's spelled)
That's not even bringing in things like the Army of the Dead, who would just solo.

In the books The Army scared the enemy to death iirc. They couldn't touch them but they were scared to death.

I don't remember that in the books, though I'll admit it's been a long while since I read it.
I also haven't played the games in a while, is there a finite number of Darkspawn?

Lets not forget that its not just the Darkspawn that come with a blight, the land gets corrupted, the animals become blighted (see blight wolves and such), and the Darkspawn don't just kill, they also capture people turn the females into brood mothers to birth more Darkspawn. Human broodmothers produce Hurlocks, Dwarven broodmothers produce Genlocks, Quinari (which there are none of in ME so they cant make more brood mothers of them if they are killed) produce Ogres and iirc Elven broodmothers make those shrieks.
and there are now potentials for Hobbit/darkspawn who would probably be like Genlocks in most ways. Oh, and do you think the Eagles could become Blighted?

Its never said the total number of Darkspawn, just that the seem to be un-ending. The broodmothers work like biological factories hidden deep under ground producing the darkspawn. You get to kill a Dwarven brood mother in the Deadtrenches.

It's said that the main horde (the group of darkspawn that follows the Archdemon around) outnumbers all the other armies of Ferelden put together 3-to-1. And the Deep Roads are still full of them, plus random groups all across the country

Well blight will have zero effect on the already evil tainted creatures in existence, aka the goblins who'll attack them right off, the Watcher in the Water who'll snag a few, the Balrog of Moria...
Blight is not an I-win button for the Darkspawn.

You'd have to prove how exactly the blight works, affecting them. Do they have to be bitten, is it like a magic aura, what?
That's if it would even take hold in ME. There are some old and powerful magics at work. Sauron affects things and corrupts it too, see the Hobbit movies, and why Mordor is the way it is.

Oh yea and Sauron's in effect from the sound of it...he corrupts stuff too. And can see anything hidden or no if he looks at it
