Vokun
"Storm eye abyss trait". Vokun explained. "Gives person Lightning Sight". "See thing beyond normal human, very strong". He gestures towards the prince. "He get from giving part soul to me, i give part back, part return touched by Infernal". "Eye not natural to him, eye bleed & hurt". He steals a sip of the princes spirit, dodging a swatting hand as he does.
"Tribe...Tribe bad". He says solemnly. "Hope need not meet tribe".

Galen
Galen listened more intently, forcing himself to focuse as the young warrior spoke. It seemed that everyone present had heard the stories of the Islands. And if half of what the boy said was true.....
His thoughts trailed off as he looked at the faces of those around him, taking note of how quiet Ben had gotten. If Galen didn't know any better he could have sworn Ben was now fully sober.

The group was nervous, either the demon isles was news to them and they were frightened by mere words, or they knew of the small archipelago and didn't have overly fond memories of it. The prince kept his calm the most, enough so that his shaking was imperceptible, or at least she imagined it was to human eyes. But she didn't need to look, it was subtle enough that the man himself might have been unaware of it, but to her ears his shakes were as war drums.
The vibrations annoyed her so she attempted to soothe their unease:
"Restrain your quivering humans, the boy makes it sound worse than it is. The creatures of the isles aren't surreal monstrosities, they die when you stab them"

Luna
All this seriousness was slightly driving her mad. Not only did she have to worry about her father's health and her brothers whereabouts, but she now had to worry about a handful of people who are particularly skilled in a certain things, an old childhood friend who linked himself to a 'demon' child and supposed monsters on a whole bunch of islands that they have to make allies with or face certain annihilation. It was a bit much, not to mention her own magical knowledge far surpassed what Liliana knew, maybe even the Elves who were practically mirror opposites save for their personalities. Luna listened to every word spoken, every crack in Garrett's voice, every subtle motion made by the assassin, every item Liliana poked through to find something of interest to her. She took note of it all and when Vokun mentioned the Prince's eye she got curious. Not that he was linked with Vokun, that's a known but rare magical practice... but the Prince's ability to see beyond normal human sight. It made her curious about her own personal link with magic, her freezing touch that she had no control over. She shook her head at the thought and finally looked over at the assassin who tried to console the rest as if they were babes in a basket.
"Oh good. I would hope stabbing them repeatedly would do something. If it didn't they'd have to be something like a demigod or protected by magic. I'm pretty sure you're not even equipped to handle such a feat."
She turned to face Ari as she continued to speak
"And for future reference, if I need to be consoled about suicide plans, which I feel will be common in the line of work we signed up for not even a day ago, I'll be sure to ask the mother who left me before I talk to a person only trained in the art of death."

Ben's smile remained ever-cheerful even at the mention of that archipelago. "Ah, how scary. Gee Princey, you sure do have fun taste in allies." He shrugged his shoulders "Alrighty, if that's the case and you're paying....who am I a meager man to refuse such a request?" He relaxed into his chair humming a soft tune to himself.

"Oh quaint, snide wit. I have been an assassin since before your great-grandfather was born, I have killed many who were "protected" by magic, and I will kill many more after your great-grandchildren turn to dust"
The voice coming from the ceiling fell to silence for a moment, before resuming near the noble girl's right ear.
"This is my finger you feel on your back, it could have been the point of a dagger, what good was your magic just now ?"
She stepped around the girl as she continued to speak.
"I am not consoling you, your well-being is of no concern to me, I was trying to calm you down because you're all shaking and the vibrations are bothersome to my ears. Your bodies are like crying babes at the mention of monsters under the bed"

Vokun
"ENOUGH"! The prince bellowed. His eye once again bleeding as it followed the movement of the assassin. "If you feel good enough to throw barbs than your good enough to fight"! Garrett struggled to rein his fury back. "Fucking hell, if this is what its like to have a sliver of the Infernal i cant imagine how Vokun feels". The boy grunts in approval. "Wassa, give me a status report on Lebrinth's defenses & whether or not your coming". "The rest of you i'll meet at the gate...Dismissed".

Galen
Galen sighed a bit as he turned and made his way slowly out the door. 'His princyness is in no mood for games it seems' he mused as he made his way down the corridors, 'I wonder what he's really looking to find on those damned islands.'
Despite what he projected outwardly, Galen was no fool. He had heard to many dark tales to believe that the prince was looking for allies.
'No,' he thought, shaking his head, ' it's obvious he's hiding something.....but what is it.'
Whatever it was, he would face it head on. He had made a couple friends in the short time their company had been formed. Whatever happens next, he wasn't about to let them face it alone.

Liliana, feeling as though everything that could have been said was said, looked about a bit nervously at the last two in here and the elf. She scooted towards the exit, hoping they would follow so that they would lead her towards the gate since she was so easily turned around in big castles. So many rooms, so many corridors, it was almost labyrinth-like to herself.
She couldn't say she liked the tone of this elf here, the more she was around elves the more uncomfortable she felt around them. This ones tone was especially mean, and for no reason either! She just wanted people to get along, was that so hard?
Idly she strummed her Lute just once, and moved up to assist Ben getting out since he was drunk off his rocker. "Hey, Uh, Luna? Can you help me get to the gate? This place is a little confusing for me to wander about in. You seem to know your way around, a little!" she asked, her smile showing on her whole face as she beamed at the icy mage.

Ben waved Liliana away from him, not drinking enough to constitute someone helping him out of his seat. "If that's all your grace...I'll actually go on ahead of you lot. I've got a request on the Isles that requires my attention, and I'd rather go on ahead and not let it get in the way of the current contract."

Luna
The conversation over, Luna made her way out of the room at breakneck speed. It was only until she was approached with Liliana's kind face that she stopped in her tracks. She took a deep breath and sighed. She was slightly heated at how Garrett was more trusting of Vokun than herself as well as the fact that he made a decision to link himself with risky magic without someone like herself to consult him. It was no longer an issue at this point for the deed was done. She turned her blank face to Liliana, observing her face closely before responding.
"Uh.. sure. The gate isn't too far off. This way."
And with that, she made her way, albeit slowly, to the main gate.

Luna was hard to read, and Liliana prided herself on being able to read the emotions of someone fairly well! It was a necessity of a bard, after all, to read the room and play accordingly. But Luna could make herself a blank slate so easily that it was concerning, what could she be hiding? what feelings was she holding onto that made her like that?
Or maybe she was just reading the situation wrong, but she couldn't say she wasn't a worrywart.
With Ben having gotten up and leaving already, it made her a bit flustered that he was seemed to be acting all tipsy and drunk and was not actually. All that effort for naught! She decided it was best to just follow just a few steps behind Luna, making extra sure not to step on her heels as she did so. Speed walking so her little legs could keep up with her.
"So, Uh, these Isle's sound interesting..." she said, trying to make small talk as best she could considering the situation they were in. "... Uh, are you alright? Did the Elf lady bother you? I like Elves, I've learned a bit about their culture and I've heard stories of how beautiful they are but that one seems to be a bit mean so I understand if you were bothered by her, she bothers me too! But I'm sure we'll get along as time goes on, we don't really know each other all too well yet so some people may seem rough on the exterior but they're actually sweethearts on the inside if you dig deep enough!"
Liliana was definitely one to ramble on and on without stopping, her voice chaining together sentences fluidly and with hardly a breath in between pauses. Once she got going it was usually hard for her to stop unless acted on by an outside force.
"Oh! you know what I think is a great idea? if we swapped stories about ourselves! It would let us understand each other much more and relate a lot better! I can start if you want, but maybe you want to start if that's what you want to do! I don't mind either way, honestly, I just love sharing stories and any way to bring us all closer would be wonderful I think! My Mama always told me stories and song bring people together, ya know? She was a Bard too, in fact most of my instruments are handed down through the generations! at least one of our family as been a Bard throughout my family history..."
She stopped suddenly, a light rosey color rising in her cheeks as she clutched the neck of her lute with both hands and held it up to her chin as if to hide herself behind it. "Sorry, I can kind of get carried away sometimes."

With that, \\Luna
As they walked through the halls of the palace Luna took her time to reach the gates, listening to Liliana as she tried to recompose herself. The girl was maybe a few years younger than herself and full of energy. It was refreshing, especially knowing that this girl would probably be more inspirational than herself to the rest of their companions. That was if they were even capable of becoming inspired by naivety and hope. When Liliana had begun to apologize, Luna began to speak quietly.
"There is no need for an apology. Very few people these days have your kind of energy. To answer your earlier question, it's not that I dislike the Elves accompanying us. One has an overinflated ego which is much greater than my own and that can prove to be foolhardy. She assumes I was trained in only magic and that nobles like myself and even the Prince are incapable of dealing with the likes of her. Though it is true that battle was one of the very first times I've done combat, I am not afraid to draw my blade. The other is a mystery to me. She lacks faith after so many years of battling the Shadow Army and seeing the destruction it causes. It is as if she believes the Gods have betrayed us and have sent us our damnation in the form of this onslaught of death and chaos."
She took a breath, looking to Liliana with a side glance before looking forward again.
"As for a story of myself, I come from a long line of Mages. Since the creation of the Sylvaire family by Arch-Mage Cassandra herself, our magic has been passed down from generation to generation. Each family head having more magical potential than the last. If I so wished, I could surpass an Arch-Mage of the old times, however, the training to do so would take up a couple decades of training... for a normal mage. When my Father passed down his power unto me, it practically changed me into a well of magical energy. I have not yet been able to tap into it, but I cannot hope to be an average person anymore."
As they turned a corner Luna would remove the glove off her right hand and run her fingertips down the wall as they walked. The wall began to faintly form ice crystals and Luna quickly took her hand off, putting her glove back on.

Galen
"You know," Galen said from a doorway nearby, "I don't think his highness would appreciate that. Just imagain all the servants pissing themselves as the snow queen cometh leaving frosty walls in her wake."
Galen gave the widest grin he could muster and hoped they didn't realize that in his current state he had gotten turned around in the twisting corridors, apparently doubling back without realizing it.
"Mind if I join you two ladies?" He asked rhetorically, falling in step besides them, suddenly feeling a tad awkward in his semi-sober stuper "Soooo....any clue as to what the Prince is REALLY after?"
Galen made sure to emphasize his sentence, his thoughts from earlier still troubled him and he figured it would be good to get an outside perspective.

Liliana beamed as Luna so willingly shared her part of the story, and even gave her a little compliment! She was so happy that someone seemed to be in a okay mood despite everything that had gone on. This was serious business, but sometimes all you could really do was smile and let things go their own way and just let it go! Though, Luna definitely was far from really smiling at all now that she noticed how she spoke and carried herself. Like there was a heavy burden upon her shoulders that she carried with her everywhere she walked. Liliana nodded as she followed her as best she could, making sure to listen very carefully, as her mother always told her that listening was the best skill one could have, to everything that Luna was saying.
During that pause in her speech, it made Liliana wonder about how the elves felt about this whole thing, maybe she could ask one of them sometime and get a better read on the situation. Maybe it was the sense of fear that Luna seemed to suggest that they felt, maybe it was something more... she felt like she would need to know more. She had almost fallen to deeply into her thoughts to realize that Luna had continued, and quickly she was brought back to attention.
Her bare hand drifted along the side of the wall, and with each caressing fingertip crystals of ice began to form, and Liliana couldn't help but let out a soft gasp as the twinkle in her eye matched that of the ice. She didn't seem to notice that the ice could damage the side of the wall, but she noticed the gentle pattern of ice and snow gleaming in the dim light of the castle halls. So out of place, but shockingly beautiful in such a strange way.
"Wow..." she mumbled softly, taken in awe of what she had just witnessed. She rarely had seen snow or ice, but if it all seemed to sparkle like diamonds. Seeing she was falling behind, she quickly dashed up to her side and gave her a wonderfully warm smile. "You have talent, Miss. I think what you have is beautiful! And, well, maybe you can be average if you really wanted to! But you're you! and I think that's alright." she said so matter-of-factly
Liliana couldn't help but giggle just a little, stepping in a quick half circle around her in a sort of flourish so she could be on the other side instead. Glancing at the hand she had taken the glove off of. It seemed like she really wanted to ask something, but she was quickly interrupted by a hefty male voice that shocked her from her hard focus.
She had though Galen had left earlier, but maybe he waited for them. But why would he want to do that...?
"Oh, is that why you stopped for us Galen?" she asked him, turning around and walking backwards alongside Luna. Adjusting the straps of her backpack so that it would rest in a slightly different way. "Well, maybe he's looking for treasure. I know I would hide something forbidden on an Isle filled with scary thingy's. I think there was a song I heard about something like that actually! But I don't remember it very well... I dunno if it even is an actual song or if I just reaaaally want it to be a thing!"
