Chapter 1: Origin
Project: Poseidon
The room was silent, save for the soft patter of rain against glass, as a alone figure sat motionless in a backwards kitchen chair. He was slumped, arms folded across the chair-back, his chin resting on them as he gazed out of the apartment across the storm swept city. 'Who am I?' He mused as lightning illuminated his face, reflecting in his two toned eyes, 'That's the million dollar question.' His ears twitched, the sound of a dozen boot falls echoed from a nearby stairwell. 'Some would call me a monster,' a door at the end of the hall is kicked in, a woman's screams cut short by a burst of gunfire, 'a healer,' a second door shattered, a family dispatched as the boots moved closer, 'a killer', the room next door was breached, a man inside began begging for his life only to be cut short by a sudden violent burst, ' a friend.' The boots gathered outside his door, 'These are what I am.....but not who I am....who we are. Sometimes I'm Freddy, a name taken rather than given......right now thought....right now I'm-' The door disintegrated as the room flooded with men. Six black armored troops surrounded him in a simi-circle, "Primary target located!" The leader shouted, "It's Poseidon!". A smile slithered across his face as their weapons snapped into position........
-6 months earlier-
The smell of antiseptic filled his nose as he breathed in the sterile air of the facility. He had lost count of the days he had been locked up in isolation, 'never thought I would miss the stink of this place.' He walked in silence down the brightly lit corridor, a pair of armed guards escorting him past the various laboratories and testing chambers. the trio came to a halt outside a steel door, the label 'Testing chamber B-27' Was stamped just above the door frame. As one of the guards stepped closer a panel on the wall slid open, "Palm print identification please," a soft, synthetic voice chimed from a speaker just below the palm scanner. This routine had become so monotonous that the guards had become masters of the quick change. Able to remove and replace their uniform gloves in moments. A soft chime came from the computer as the guard removed his hand and the door slid open with a mechanical hiss. A heavy hand sent him stumbling into the large, empty room.
The chamber was huge with solid white walls, floor, and ceiling. The thick black lines that divided the wall panels and floor tiles gave the room a grid like appearance. In the far wall, opposite the door, sat a two way mirror. "Good morning subject KT-113," a gruff, sinister voice sounded through out the room, "I trust your stay in the isolation unit was a comfortable one?"
"All sunshine and rainbows as usual Doc." KT-113 replied snidely, "The piss stains on the padded walls are coming in lovely this time of year."
"Today we shall start by honing your combat prowess back to peek form." the unseen doctor said coldly, ignoring his remarks.
"No," KT-113 barked back, "I'm tired of killing for your own sick amusement!"
"Is that so?" the doctor responded with a menacing chuckle, "I did not realize I was dealing with you....let me....correct that."
KT-113 dropped to the floor, screaming as electricity coursed through his body from the implant in his Skull. "Stop!" he pleaded though the pain, "S-s-stop!" The electricity shut off as KT-113 lay twitching.
"Is my favorite test subject ready to play?" The doctor chimed in inquisitively?
"N-no!" KT-113 stuttered, attempting to rise from the floor, "I won't let hi-" he was cut short as the implant was reactivated. For two minutes he lay on the cold white floor, spasming in pain before the doctor turned the chip back off.
"Are you ready to cooperate?" he asked, a slimy charm in his voice, "or shall we turn the obedience chip back on?"
"Leave him the fuck alone." The voice that came form KT-113 sounded like him but wasn't his own. As he stood, his demeanor was completely changed. An air of violence and pain emanated from him, his eyes were cold and bleak.
"Ah, good,"the doctor chimed back in , a chipper tone in his voice, "your finally here KT-113. I had thought that fool boy had finally found a way to suppress you."
"Enough talk!" the other KT-113 barked, "You wanted me here for one reason, so lets start painting the walls." Behind the two way mirror the doctor began smiling as he gave the order.

"Poseidon Program combat trial A34-B27 shall commence...." Portions of the floor slid open as two large cages were raised into the room. Twenty test subjects from the program were in each cage. Every one of them had failed and were now used as target practice for the other program subjects. Some were old men others children, to the other KT-113 it didn't matter. He smiled as the room filled with ankle deep water, it's power filling him as the doors of the cages slid open, "now!"
