(suggested by MugiwaraBlair ) On a blood soaked battlefield as the sun crests over the horizon, weapons scattered and broken on the ground, two warriors remain facing each other. The shorter of the two men, an orange haired Samurai with an x shaped scar on his face, the legendary hitokiri Himura Kenshin, the taller man with black hair and a dark cloak wearing plate armor with a massive sword on his back, the legendary black swordsman Guts. The warriors say nothing as their eyes meet, a breeze blowing across the now calm battlefield, a calm before the storm. Both men know that only one of them will walk away from this confrontation as they reach for their blades. A clash of styles is about to commence, finesse vs brutality, speed vs power, the two warriors are opposite in many ways and yet similar at the same time, struggling against another side of themselves. As they grip the hilts of their blades they nod an acknowledgement to their adversary before lunging forward blades drawing like lightning. But who will come out alive?

Does Guts have Berserker armor?

I would assume yes but I'm not sure if thats what Mugi had in mind. - Would having it be more or less fair? Then again Kenshin can cut through steel but I don't know what Guts Berserk armor is made of.

Berserker armor is magic, it's made to fight demons, I don't recall it ever being damaged, which definately puts it above any steel alloy when a lot of the demons he fights range from bear sized to building sized. Here's him lifting and throwing a Bear sized one. He's strong enough to hold a several hundred pound greatsword with his teeth. Easily cuts throw stone pillars. Swings sword so fast normal humans only see him as a blurred tornado. Cracked a high Apostles armored skin Breaks shield that repels cannons I'll get more later.

Berserker armor gives Guts a huge advantage over Kenshin, I can't see Kenshin getting past it.

Okay then what if there was no Berserk armor?

Then Kenshin would be able to hurt Guts, but unless he's bloodlusted he wouldn't go all out and try to kill him because CIS prevents him from doing so. Aside from that, I think they're pretty close, Kenshin maybe being a bit faster then Guts out of armor, but Guts having more durability and stamina, not really sure which one's stronger when Guts is out of armor. Been a while since I saw Rorouni Kenshin though, he seemed to have better feats earlier on then in his last fight with Shisio.

If that CIS prevents victory though wouldn't that be turned off similar to Aang's or is it a different kind of CIS to Aang's hangup?

Not sure, his "never kill anyone ever again" rule is so important to him though he nearly loses several fights even though his friends lives are at stake. It especially hindered him in his final fight with his arch-nemesis Shisio. Plus it's the whole reason he uses a reverse blade sword. I just wanted to put that out there, don't really mind if it's removed.

I guess in my head I just assumed it would be disregarded.

I figured it was pretty matched, with Guts being comfortably stronger (as seen in SG's links) and Kenshin being comfortably faster (for exemple he has a technique with 9 hits so fast that they feel simultaneous) but not bad at their opposite either, with Guts being able to look like a blur and Kenshin smashing a stone floor by putting his foot down for an attack, generally sending mooks flying several meters and through walls, and his amakakeru ryu no hirameki (flash of the heavenly soaring dragon) hitting so hard that it blew the surrounding air away. Aoshi even thought the impact had so much force that Shishio getting up from it must mean he's immortal
I'd think he'd lose if he held his "no killing" rule cause that's a problem against resilient opponents (he would never have beat Shishio if the latter didn't have a 15 minutes time-limit) but if bloodlusted he could win imo. If all of his attacks had been real slashes, most of fights (if not all) would have ended after his 1st hit, which is usually pretty early

Okay, lets go ahead and say for the sake of interesting that Kenshin's in full blown hitokiri mode/at his peak whichever works best wording wise. I like this match their equals and opposites.

It would be more fair. I'll have to find more of Gut's older feats since he always wears Berserker armor now. *EDIT* I keep forgetting to show the other equipment he has aside from his sword. Metal arm with a built in cannon that can blow right through an Apostle He carries around at least a half dozen mini bombs with him (seen exploding in the bottom panel). Some throwing knives. Repeating crossbow

Yeah that's the best set up for the match I think so lets go with that.
