Two powerful cqc warriors from two rival universes go head to head today. In the Blue Corner, the Beast of Konaha Might Guy. In the Yellow Corner, the Leopard Man of CP9 Rob Lucci. Both men start in their base forms, they are allowed to access any of their forms when they feel it necessary at any point in the match. So who will win this bout? The representative of the Ninja Universe Naruto or the representative of the Pirate Universe One Piece?

...Going with the normal Vs effect on a characters mindset... This match "can" only end in ether a win gor Gai, or a MAD. As there's no way Rob has a snowballs chance in hell against Eight-Gates-Gai...

@shgon so I'm guessing gates will have to be activated for victory then? I figured his various abilities would even the odds some, but granted I've only recently got into One Piece, and that's the anime version..which is at the Water Seven Arc. So..yeah.

Meh, don't know if their "needed"(though rather likely. "how many" is a different question), but their kind of a big part of Gai's fighting style anyway. Honestly, it's been awhile since I read the arc Rob is from, but... Like I said, he's got no chance Vs the Gate of Death. So, again, more of of a question of whether it's a win for Gai, or a MAD.

Well Rob in Water seven was able to completely no sell Luffy, and actually pierce him when he went Leopard man. I don't know how far up the Gates would be required to actually overcome his defense, and his offensive kicks are basically air blades, which in Leopard form can slice through buildings. He's easily in the same ballpark offensively as Guy I'd say it's just how hard is Guy going to have to hit to counter said defense of his. I'd say he definitely has the speed advantage just because even at all but the gate of death open he was able to blitze Madara...putting him fairly hypersonic as hell.

He definitely needs Gates, Rob Lucci shrugged off a barrage of cannon balls as a teen, years before getting his Devil Fruit. And during his last fight with Luffy he got hit by a Gear 3rd punch that destroyed a huge concrete/stone tower, sustaining only superficial injuries. Also, as was mentioned he no selled attacks from Luffy in their 1st fight, who at that point in the story was strong enough to push 2 tall buildings apart while squeezed in-between them.
Plus all the special disciplines he has, like his kicks sending razor wind shockwaves, being able to pierce steel with a finger poke, stepping on air to chain jumps, boosting his durability even further, boosting his already huge speed

Well Guy opening seven gates is powerful enough that Madara acknowledged it to a point, and said it wasn't good enough to beat him. And he was fast enough to blitze Madara, which as I said should put him massively hypersonic.. His Midday Tiger was fairly powerful (created a large blast at the base of the God Tree considering the size of the tree, and sent Madara flying back some) course colliding with the tree at that speed almost koed Guy
