And instead of re-awakening the Destoroyah, the explosion of Serizawa's Oxygen Reactor sends a burst of powerful radiation into space, alerting a certain three headed Space Dragon to Earth's existence.

setting up the third movie Godzilla 2 vs King Ghidorah, and it turns out Ghidorah was controlling Serizawa in order to remove the only threat to his assault...but Godzilla Jr. was the Earth's backup plan for extra asskicking.

@knuks it will, first Ghidorah attacks and gets repelled by Jr. He then sends a succession of slave monsters after Godzilla jr who are either broken out of his control or destroyed....but it's all part of Ghidorah's plan to take over the world and when he next lands he releases his defeated servant's souls from hell into new cyborg monster bodies and he leads his army against Godzilla jr leading an army of the reformed monsters in an epic global battle of destruction!

Curiously, it almost seems to be implying that we didn't create Godzilla. Though the trailer says they tried to bomb Godzilla in '54, so It could have easily been another Atomic test earlier. I wonder if it'll have once been a dinosaur this time again?

@cosmic it could be a naturally radiation absorbing monster and just everytime they nuked it it got bigger, and stronger...and then started shooting nukes back.

Hmm, could have been enough to force him back into dormancy, and now they'll find he's adapted and now completely nuke-proof, and that Radiation only makes him stronger.

Ghidora, space demon conqueror. the others no idea, genetic mutations created trying to replicate Godzilla maybe for some, maybe other prehistoric abominations scattered across the globe?
