www.youtube.com/watch?v=68AqHwgk2s8Just caught the trailer and thought the little piece they give us here was great. Nothing in the way of plot details or spoilers, as it is apparently the better part of a year away from theaters, but it was more of that great flight dynamic the original brought, with Hiccup simultaneously inventing skydiving and wingsuiting. Wingsuit Vikings, bros. Continental Europe, eat your heart out. Since there's a lot of time until the movie comes, I almost didn't make this topic. But what the hell, here it is. So tell me, did you like the first film? What would you have changed? What should this film have, and what theories do you have about the plot? Give your own ideas, and we'll see how close we are when the actual movie comes out. Here's hoping that DreamWorks puts out another enjoyable film with this.

loved the first film nothing I would have changed, considering the end of the series I'm betting.....war with the outcasts has been on and off and Hiccup's become the leader of Berks dragon army. My prediction is epic aerial combat sequences with a slight chance of romance and death.

And they contunie the trend of reminding me how aswesome flight is. I see toothless can glide without Hiccup.... as can hiccup, nice.

I like how ingenious Hiccup is with his inventions and making flight for Toothless better.
Seems he's grown a lot older too, this may take place as a sort of 'path to adulthood' sort of thing. I wouldn't be suprised if suddenly the two went seperate ways as the end.
I can speculate, but I do want to see it.

my money, Stoick and Thornado fall in battle against the Outcasts led by Alvin and his Whispering Death when Mildoon reveals his betrayal and Hiccup has the mantle of Chief suddenly thrust upon him forcing him to make choices that'll change Berk's fate forever

I liked the first one... What I caught of the TV show wasn't bad, but was a bit of a let down.

I like Hiccup because it seems like they're taking him away from "Limp noodle with a good heart" and amplifying his creativity and ingenuity while emphasizing his courage (take balls to invent skydiving yourself) while also seeming to make him look older. It just looks like more proportional development.
I think it would be pretty cool to see Hiccup thrust into a leadership situation (hell, he half runs the joint already given he's the smartest bloke there and his dragon is the top of the food chain), but I don't know if the Outcasts will be a part of it all. Obviously some villain with dragons.
I want a shit ton of aerial combat and more of those flying scenes in general. Leery of romance subplots. Hope that DreamWorks keeps the balance of humor and seriousness; as in, for the love of Odin, don't fill it with Pop Culture references.

some movies are made for pop culture references but they did the first one with the perfect balance of serious and humorous. They won't fill it with pop culture references. - It'll be the Outsiders or all out war with the Berserkers (Dagger the Derranged was doing everything he could to force war maybe he finally just said fuck it. Personally I think Hiccup and co could have taken that fleet if Stoick let him lead the charge) Plus it'd make for good drama and story for Hiccup to lose his father and have to try and make decisions that are the right ones. I agree though he basically runs half the village, but it'd be a whole different game to suddenly take charge of the village during war time, have to deal with someone not thinking he can do it.....Snotlout's father probably, who thinks he should be in charge and have them but heads every so often over what course of action to take. You know that guy wouldn't want to take orders from Hiccup. Though dragon food chain Toothless is top or tied with Thornado...though Toothless has more utility and range, but Thornado does have raw strength though. - And agreed more aerial combat. I want to see Toothless show what the F-22 of Dragons can do. I want to see if the Whispering Death keeps it's maneuverability and ability to tunnel with a Rider the size of Alvin on it....but it'd be interesting to see. Still after the hangliding thing and all I want to see what Toothless and Hiccup can really do now. Also Hiccup's hanglide ability means he could gundam jack bitches....I mean dragon jack bitches or be a one man dragon squadron. So many possibilities now that Toothless can self fly again.

Ya.
Was surprised they killed Stoick. Mature twist.
Did Snoutlout or Fishlegs show any prior attraction to Ruffnut in the show? That was easily the most obnoxious part of the film for me. Fuckin romance subplots.
Drago was interesting. Command the Kaiju dragon by screaming at it, lol.
