(suggested by shadowknight ) the Reapers from Mass Effect attack the halo universe (starting with the UNSC controlled earth) head on. They have the same reaper forces(plus the collectors) that they used in the Games and the ability to make more from fallen enemies. The UNSC (along with the rest of the halo verse will not be given the luxury of an early warning)......also, if it helps, the Mass Relays are also transported to the Halo verse in a similar setup to how they are arranged in their own universe.

Is it just UNSC or can the Former Covenant races help?

Is it just UNSC or can the Former Covenant races help? Short answer: Yes Long answer: The Reapers start by hitting Earth head-on with out warning, they just drop out of the sky and are invading in force. From there they spread out to the rest of the "Halo" Galaxy. Due to Mass Relays appearing (one at the edge of every cluster in the galaxy. Same as in the ME verse.) The Covenant gets involved when news of the earth attack reaches them/They get hit themselves. In this scenario, the only ones who can use the Mass Relays safely are the Reapers, anyone not using a Reaper IFF will be shot into the nearest black hole and or into darkspace. How much of the Halo Galaxy has been mapped, because it is plausible that the Reapers could use unmapped regions of space to travel.

It starts with Earth and the UNSC but the Reapers are going for the Covenant too as I understood it.

If the Relays are transplanted…then the Reapers have to come through Pluto's Relay…unless they just warp into atmosphere. Earth is covered with OSD's. The Reapers would have to work for it.

The Reapers do move vary quickly. Remember how three started? They were passing the moon before the fleet around earth knew the Reapers where there.

True but they also weren't expecting to really be invaded. Halo Earth has and they barley made it, Hood will tell the fleet to attack as soon as they pass the Asteroid Belt.

Halo Earth isn't expecting an invasion at the moment though and Reapers don't need to use the Mass Relay as shown by 3

The Military is very reactionary once home has been attacked. Let's say, NK does something stupid like shell Kuai. Oahu can fully mobilize everything (Oahu has all four branches on it) with 2-3 hours. Earth was nearly annihilated because they didn't think the Covenant could find earth. They may not expect an invasion that time but they will always be ready for one. Stopped playing after meeting Liara again, wouldn't know.

I meant the fact they made it out of the Batarian space when the Relay there went supernova destroying the Batarian home system.

Yea, Ok, so lets say the Reapers get with in half a mile of the moon before they are noticed. Thats when the match starts and we go from there.

Fair enough, that would make it a very hard fought battle.
