Doom comes calling in Gotham, seeking to purchase weapons from Wane Tech for weapons to arm a bunch of drunken peasants he doesn't trust with his good tech. Bruce meets him in person and feeling there's something off about him begins to investigate as Batman, Doom takes offense to being spied on by a glorified rodent. Showdown in Gotham, Batman vs Doom, gods of prep clashing for all the marbles. Will Batman stop this villain or does DOOM! triumph. Round 1: Random Encounter in Gotham based on the above situation. Round 2: They decide to once and for all prove who is the better Prepper. They have 3 years to amass everything in their prepping power, no holds barred prep war to the death. Batman Inc vs Doom and Latveria essentially. Can Batman outprep Doom, or does he loose before he even begins?

Round 1: Doom pulls splatters Batman into goop.
Round 2: This could go ether way, Doom may have an edge due to having magic and an entire country worth of resources to back him up, and I am assuming Batman only has his financial resources form his company; however, he has taken down a ton of heroes and villains with his planning skills over the course of his comic run.
So I believe that Doom wins round 1, 9.5 times out of 10. Round 2 for me is Doom winning 53 out of a hundred, closer but I still feel that with no plot shielding his sorcery gives him the edge.

Just in case, we're talking Regular!-Dr. Doom in this, right? Either way does Batman have any of the Lantern rings on him?
Round one is Dr. Doom's fight to lose even As Regular!-Dr. Doom, Rings or no Rings in that round.
Round two is anyone's game unless either of them makes an error in strategic judgement.

No lantern rings in round 1, Batman's just out of curiosity watching Doom for evil doings and Doom doesn't like rats with wings watching him.
Round 2 he can get a lantern ring and Doom can get any mystical artifact from any being he damn well feels like, or summon demons if he wants, it's a prep war, so long as your not bringing in named characters its all good.

Forgive me for asking but, does Batman still have access to a lantern ring, from what I remember when he got the green one, the justice league had to force him to give it back (or something like that) and I'm not sure about the other three he has worn in the past (yellow, black, and white)

Well assuming he's able to still get it then it's allowed though White Black and Yellow are going to be no goes. - Also this match was on FP today (hence me getting the idea to post it actually) and one of the arguments for Batman winning is merely....good guys win bad guys lose.....

Fair enough. ___ This match is a Tartarus of a lot better fleshed-out than the version that was on FP, that's for sure. As for that argument, if it were a case of Batman being sent against one of the Antagonists of Full Metal Alchemist when Batman's armed with With a Lantern ring in the Comics or the Battle Suit from the Animated DC-verse where Justice League and JL:U happened, whoever made that argument would have been on to something. As it stands, Badass Decay much, these days, aside from Gurren Lagann or Super Robot Wars-related news?

Its know (I think only I call it this) as the villain effect. This is when you are a villain and no matter how great you plan, no matter how well planned and executed, no matter if the hero is captured/out of town/dead, your plan will ALWAYS fail. Even if it succeeds, that success will lead into a fail.

Yeah but still citing what is essentially Plot as a reason for win or loss is sad.

Yeah but still citing what is essentially Plot as a reason for win or loss is sad. yea, but thats why Doom wins here (or at least the first round). Because on a larger site there are to many Batman fans who think that he could take on god and win........with prep time.

The thing is Doom can do the same...and actually has.

My scenario for round 2:
Doom (during his prep years) does his thing. Time of the attack, he invades the island city of Gotham from all sides, bringing a full armada of Doom Bots and what ever else is in his army. As the doom bots attack the bridges and tunnels are collapsed to prevent escape, Latverian fighters lock down the skys, shooting down everything from passenger liners to RC choppers. the water ways are patrolled 24/7 and anyone ,no matter the age, caught trying to cross the water is vaporized on site. Eventually the Bat cave is found and destroyed. the city is being burned to the ground. Batman is forced to wage a guerrilla war, Doom carpet bombs the ruined city with a nerve gass, killing any who are unprotected, batman and a few others who find gass masks survive. Doom pinpoints the remaining survivors using thermal imaging, Batmans suit blocks his body heat, the last of the survivors die but Batman lives and continues to fight. Doom then triangulates where Batman is from the pattern of attacks on his doombots and sets a trap. Batman goes and does his ambush, DoomBots pop up from every corner, Doom Himself enters, Batman closes in to punch him (having run out of gadgets along time ago)Doom uses his magic to pop Batmans head like a grape. He pulls his army out of the ruins of Gotham, setting off a nuke as he heads home to plan his fight with Mr. Fantastic.
