I was born a soldier but this world was never meant for me/But i ain't goin leave it until i achieve my victory/Forced to fight my battles within the shadows of anonymity/You'd best call out to the lord for I'm sliding into insanity/Im losing my mind, laughing to myself maniacally/Im living within an imagined fantasy/Cause i swear to god i need something to escape this tortuous world we call reality/Gravity begins to shift and father time follows in kind/My heart breaks for those who seek escape through the barrel of a 45./ Why is it that all great men are always destined to die/While those who commit great sins and evil continue to live out their lives/And yet, i stand before you preaching rhymes without tire/Like a blacksmith with some ore i put it to the fire/Temper the steel, sharpen up the edges till it's razor fine/Im like a weaver of dreams within the loom of your mind.

This is a little something I wrote between classes a few years ago. I was going to have it published but never had the time.ONCE UPON A DARK NOVEMBEROnce upon a dark November I found love fades as a dying ember. The air had a chill like a dead man's will, and that was why it was a season to remember. Her name was Dawn she was a graceful swan that was carried to earth on angel wings. The day we met I now regret when I look back on everything. I worked long and hard to make our love grow, but a shift in the wind is all i would know. Like a panther in the night he hunted through the streets stalking his pray that walks on two feet. He was a handsome man whose name I care not speak, with his button down shirt, his boots, and blue jeans. He enter our lives like a parasitic rat, spreading his lies every time we had a spat! If I would have known then what I do now, I would have left that wretch to the man on the prowl! On that fateful day! On that dark November they sat by the fire with passion burning like embers! They thought I was gone, they thought no one could see when really it happened right in front of me. I kicked off my shoes so I could not be heard as hatred trembled through every nerve; silently I crept into the den while the sounds of their love filled me with chagrin. Above the mantle sat an old hunting rifle that was inherited from my Great Grand Paw Miles; I hid in the closet and loaded three rounds knowing in my heart what was about to go down. The fire was dead, but the embers glowed hot, as the lovers embraced, and on her finger he slipped a fine diamond ring and that was it. My sweet Dawn screamed as the first shot did sound, his body went limp as I fired the next round. Dawn's screams were cut short as the second round hit, and then I was alone with one round, that was it. My hatred still burned, but directed at me, not that wretch on the floor or her husband to be! The time had come I did not want to remember; with the barrel in my mouth I forgot that dark November.

Maiden in waiting There she stands upon the cliff. Watching and waiting her legs go stiff. She watches her lover sail off to war. Her face turns to stone as his ship starts to soar. Her fears start to fade her mind is sedating. She is now and Forever a maiden in waiting.
