Adventure World (or whatever)

For now this will basically just be a place to gather scribblings and stuff about a fantasy setting that's been in my head for a little while. First: this one is really more "shut up it's fantasy" about stuff than my previous Fantasy Verse, at least so far. I'll still employ Magic A is Magic A, but magic will just be a thing that's there without a detailed explanation. Though our laws of physics (or close enough) will apply in general but magic will be a special force that can play with it temporarily. So main difference essentially, previous Fantasy Verse=magic is a part of physics and mages are limited energy manipulators, and this one=magic is supernatural, separate from regular physics and mages are limited reality warpers. Next I'll list some of the things I have so far by category.


Species/Races: Elf-kin, human-kin and orc-kin. Elf-Kin only has 2 races, Light Elves and Dark Elves (common tongue terms, they will have fancier elven terms for themselves and all). Both have kingdoms ruled by a queen, not because of matriarchy, it just happens to be that way. The Light Elves have had several rulers varying in gender, while the Dark Elves have had the same ruler since the founding of their realm. Human-kin is just humans atm, it might grow to include dwarves or gnomes and the like. Also there are kinds of humans who are apparently independent races despite seeming human, which I haven't decided yet how they're linked. For exemple the barbarians. Orc-kin is all assorted greenskins: orcs, goblins, hobgoblins, trolls, etc. 

The big separation between the 3 is that, human-kin minds are a mix of instinct and sentience, they consciously reason out and think some stuff and other stuff just gets done subconsciously, like irl humans. Orc-kin are pure (or vast majority) instinct, so they don't have art or other impractical cultural practices. And they also don't have morals. Orcs rape because they feel horny and instinctually fuck something, they don't consciously decide to do it, cause they don't consciously decide anything. This makes them efficient and unfettered to the extreme. Elf-kin are pure (or vast majority) sentience, every single thing they do or think, down to the details, is a conscious decision. This means they have no natural talent, an elven swordmaster consciously calculates angles, trajectories, momentum, balance, etc constantly. But their art is literally superhuman because of it too. 

Aside the "people/humanoid" ones, there's also "dinosaurs", as in weird reptile things of wildly different shapes and sizes. Giant monsters, dragons (which include wyverns, etc). 


Places: 

Dark Lands-> where dark elves live

Realm of Light-> where light elves live

Iron Peaks-> probably where barbarians will live

Blood Plains-> where blood elves/vampires/stuff will live, maybe

Golden Sea-> is mostly a poetic name for "huge ass desert", but also in part because creatures live in it aquatic-like

Field of Waves-> a group of tropical islands surrounded by deep ocean

Ice Flats-> a vast frozen land, where pretty much nothing lives

Stone Tundra-> a toxic and volcanic place where things get covered in mineral ash and often stuck like living statues


Characters: 

Koa-> comes from the Field of Waves, chocolate skin, pale blond/sand colored hair and yellow/golden eyes. Fairly toned, even muscular, very tall. Is a very good swimmer, knows herbs and powders, formidable warrior but only experienced against large creatures, thus not a proficient weapon wielder by common standards. However being able to go up against giant monsters, she is ungodly resilient and freakishly strong compared to most inhabitants of the world. Pretty outgoing and boastful when talking to/at animals but more shy around people. 

Baleria-> the dark elf queen, ruler of the Dark Lands and founder of their realm. Pale skin and dark haired. Slender and flawlessly proportioned, some speculate as a result of body-altering magic, though it could just as well be natural, being elven royalty and all. Unfathomably powerful sorceress and supremely intelligent, she has fooled, trapped and outgambitted many would be heroes over her lifetime

Galactic+ Empire

Called Anunnaki (or Anun for short) by most inhabitants of the Adventure Land (trans. "those who from heaven came to earth"), who essentially believe them to be either gods or different kinds of similar celestials beings. The commonly revered ones (due to being the most common visitors) are an elite imperial corps all codenamed after mythical weapons.

The inhabitants are mildly tribal-like, they don't have magic but they make stuff with plants and creature parts that have sorta magical properties. There might be an underwater civilization in the area's backstory. There totes are sea monsters but nothing precise yet.

Dark Lands: country of the dark elves. Nigh-permanently covered in black clouds, frequent storms and the atmosphere is hazardous and/or lethal to other species. Their cities are made from black stone and dark metals. They are aloof to and distance themselves from the younger races (i.e. all races except them and light elves), officially to "let them find their own way". Their constructs are for the vast majority artificial since they are linked with the dark aspects of nature. This specialization into the artificial has made them the best species at mechanisms, metallurgy and the like. Their religion is centered around their ruler, Queen Baleria. They do recognize the existence of the Pantheon (since they provably exist) but only actively worship Baleria for taking a direct, physically present approach to helping the material world. Queen Baleria is actually just an exceedingly powerful mage but most of them consider her a goddess, estimating that no magic user could achieve their Queen's prowess.

Realm of Light: country of the light elves. It is always sunny, even when it rains, meaning there's always rainbows when it happens. The air is filled with life energy, growing in saturation towards the center, such that merely marching into their territory grants regenerative abilities to mortals. Their cities are made from white and transparent crystalline formations and decorated with flora. They are very helpful towards the younger races, though mostly in the form of advice rather than straight up elevating them. Their constructs are magitek, mechanisms whose inner workings are mostly magical, and made from natural materials that they simply will to grow, up to and including cities. They recognize the existence of the Pantheon but do not worship, being entirely self-sufficient and thus in no need of divine aid. They do however, revere their royalty with fervour similar to worship.

Iron Peaks: country of the barbarians, the Peaks are all actives volcanoes, their villages dot the flanks, protected by massive angled walls that divert the flows of lava. Because of the regular eruptions the sky there is covered in ash clouds so sunlight is dim a best and the air is cold but because they live on volcanoes the ground is always warm, resulting in nigh-permanent fog. They are very unfettered and practical, strong believers in appeal to force, in their eyes authority is only legitimate if it can be forcefully imposed and they find the prospect of regular human aristocracies driven by politics and inheritance laughable and foolish. Though they don't think Might makes Right, only that Might makes Might, and that Might can do whatever it wants because it's Mighty. They are collectively always taller and of higher constitution and muscle mass than other human races. Their culture is entirely based on and centered around battle, thus they have rather primitive means and tools for most activities, but in turn they're far better at making and using weapons than most if not all other mortal species. They are mostly aware of the god Draan but do not worship him, instead having shamanistic rituals using altars of bone and blood sacrifices, with the goals of embodying power itself, which for them means having bodies of iron and blood of fire (i.e. being akin to the Iron Peaks themselves). Their war paints are also ritualistic magic, being able to grant them battle abilities such as being living conductors/immune to electrocution and embuing their attacks with lightning by painting bolts on their bodies, or similarly enchanting weapons by engraving runes into them. Some of them can even bind the souls of slain enemies to themselves and use them as spectral or undead minions. As a result of their blood rituals most of them also possess regenerative powers and/or supernaturally dense tissue.

Field of Waves: The inhabitants are descended from an ancient sea floor civilization, they live on mostly small islands (even the biggest ones being not that large) and while technically somewhat primitive they have surprisingly high technological capabilities due partly to their use of plants, ores and creature parts that possess magical properties and partly from remnants of their more advanced ancestors' artifacts. They thrive more in recent times since the birth of Koa, who they believe is a reincarnation of their precursors (she was actually made as an intended chosen one by either Silra or Dushara, though that doesn't necessarily exclude their belief) since she is able to contend with (and thus keep a t bay) the larger wildlife of the territory. The water of their ocean is always clear and the sea floor is deeper than the planet's diameter. they are friendly and like to trade with other countries, though they don't travel much, preferring to host foreign traders rather than going overseas to trade. they don't have a culture-wide religion, some worshipping the goddess Telian/the ocean itself, some worshipping the gods Ranain and Wirdan for the tropics, etc. Essentially they don't center of any deity nor actively worship any member of the Pantheon, they just thank the various ones responsible for stuff they like. They also generally revere Koa as their national hero (in some cases patron saint).
