Star Wars: Dark Reign of the Empire - New Frontier The Galactic Empire , after crushing the Rebel Alliance, stumbled upon a new hyperspace route. This new path lead them across darkspace, strait to the Milky Way. The Empire Sent a scouting party to investigate the system the lain stopped at; however, they didn't know that a temporal rift in time was cutting through the route. The scouts arrived in our system during modern times and begin monitoring us. Soon the Empire sends a fleet to garrison our planet and use it as a launching point to explore this new found galaxy, and yes, they do slag a continent to prove their seriousness, resolve, and policy towards resistance.
