Ben
Ben's ever-present smile shrunk at what he just heard "I'm sorry Captain, care to repeat that for me?" Captain Jerome was frowning, not like when the two usually trade banter. "Advisor Wassa has ordered that we stop pursuing the fugitive, claiming that she'll eventually arrive to meet the royal family." Ben crinkled a brow at the statement. "That seems rather...optimistic of her, for all we could know the girl could be insane and attempt to kill someone. After all she's a mage and no mage I know could be trusted farther then I could impale them." At this point he shrugged his shoulders "Ah oh well, don't matter much to me. If someone dies because of some advisors hunch then isn't my fault. Then I assume she's off the contract?"
At this point Captain Jerome nodded albeit confused "Am I missing something Tergum?" At this point Ben twirled his spear and rested the shaft on his shoulder. "They didn't say anything about her armored compatriot. I'm still under the contract so I gotta catch him ya know?" The realization hit the captain and he nodded his head. "You may want to hurry, it appears some of my recruits decided to take things into their own hands and headed down to the sewers in an attempt to find them." At this Ben nodded and began heading towards the nearest sewer grate. "Tergum, I'm updating the terms of the contract. Bring in the individual and make sure the Sylvaire girl doesn't kill anyone when she meets with the royal family. I'll be paying you out of my own pocket if necessary." Ben turned his head to look at the captain one last time.
"Ah if that's so I'll cut it down to only twice my usual rate. After all I'm not completely heartless hehehehe" At this Captain Jerome scowled at the statement. As Ben begun his search for a sewer grate.

She quickly dashed about the corner, heaving with every breath trying to catch up when she heard a conversation going on as quickly planted herself against one of the walls with a hand over her mouth to hopefully stay a bit quiet. Adjusting her very tall hat for a moment so that it sat comfortably atop her head before peering over to the conversation this city guard was having with that man she had followed. The one with the tall spear who looked like he would be some sort of hero in a story. It seemed like she was coming in at the end of their conversation though, they were already starting to part but she did catch a little bit of information from them.
"...in the individual and make sure the Sylvaire girl doesn't kill anyone when she meets with the royal family..." was all she heard before pulling herself back into hiding.
Liliana caught her breath finally, scrunching up her eyebrows in thought as the name Sylvaire was noted. Had she heard of them before? She couldn't say right now, her mind was too busy trying to figure out a way to follow this man and let her come with him. That name seemed so familiar... but should she just approach him directly? So caught up in her own thoughts she hardly saw him start to leave and with a yelp the woman quickly brought a hand up to her hat and took off at a brisk pace after the spearman in a confidant stroll, her free arm swinging freely while the other lovingly held her instrument to her side.
Meeting with the royal family? threat of death? this sounded like the exact kind of hook she was looking for! So much excitement to be had there, and here the hero was looking for them out of the kindness of his generous heart! Oh my what a tale already! It was truly magnificent and she wanted to meet this man already... so she did the only thing she knew how to do when meeting a new stranger she wanted to be friends with!
"ahem..."
Behind the man a gentle song was already starting to play, following him about as if attached to him. The only beat she had being their pacing, making the song quicken and slow with them. She cleared her throat again audibly even as she plucked the strings of her lute, a big smile on her face that quickly faded when she actually began to sing. A soft, gentle voice that seemed to be directed towards him specifically.
"Listen, do you hear it? Listen, do you feel it? Listen, dangers calling yooou!
Spear, at your side Enemies are at wide Yet you keep mooooving!
The Hero with no name fights for you!"
With the last part, the final notes rang through the air for quite a few moments and she put a hand to her ear to take in the final note as it faded away. Taking this time to approach him by his side, walking backwards to get a good look at him. Older gentleman, brown shaggy hair, rather plain overall, not what she expected a hero to look like but she wouldn't be picky here! "A hero doesn't need to stay nameless, friend!" She said, giving him a toothy grin as she put her lute to one side and waved at him as if to get his attention. "I can see the potential on you, tell me, what is your name! I'll give you mine!"

Ben
Ben blinked in confusion at the strange girls statement "Ah, I'm no hero just a man trying to get by in the world. Though if it's a name you want I'll give you mine since you seemed to sing a song. You can call me Ben, no last name worthy of mention." He continued to walk as he spoke with the girl, albeit he was confused as to why this girl was following him.

"Ben! Ben... huh..." She said, excitedly at first but slowly growing softer the more she repeated it to herself as she lost herself in some deep thought. Not exactly what she expected, but it would have to do! This was her one chance, if he was doing what she thought he was doing then perhaps she could get closer to the Royal Family which would bring her one step closer to one of her lifelong goals! She pumped her fist into the air with a great smile on her face and finally pulled out of her mind and back into reality.
"Well, Ben, trust me you don't have to put up the act in front of me. I completely understand exactly what your doing right now! And I wanted to be the first to document your little adventure here the one way people like me know how!" She said and quickly did a few strums of her lute and struck a quick pose with a glinting smile and ready to play at any moment. Her trying to be stylish made him pass her and quickly she had to skip forward a few steps to catch back up to him.
"Now, now, before you say 'oh no, it's too dangerous for a maiden such as yourself!' let me tell you I know exactly how to take care of myself." She dramatically put the back of her hand to her forehead, feigning being in distress as she leaned backwards ever so slightly. Quickly she righted herself and kept on talking, hardly giving him any time to respond to her. "I can fight, I can sneak, I know many things, I just want to sit back and watch your story unfold before me! Now, that seems pretty fair, right?"
She finally seemed to breath for a moment after she had let out all of this information on him. Her smile still ever present as she leaned forward in anticipation and plucked a single string of her lute over and over like the ticking of a clock. She certainly had a lot of energy, but quickly the peace and quiet was overtaken and she facepalmed briefly.
"Oh! I forgot! Of course!" She exclaimed, taking a quick step forward, taking off her tall hat and giving the deepest bow she could give to him. "Liliana Capri: the Shade's Veil at your service!"

Luna
She followed Galen as well as she could as they inched their way close to the ladder he had pointed out. Luna had begun to slow her breathing to less than a whisper as they neared the goblins. 'If only most of these creatures weren't savages.' She thought as she and Galen finally reached the ladder. She was uncertain on how they'd climb the alder without making any noise. She'd like to ask Galen but they were literally surrounded by hostiles.
Here she was, looking for answers to several mysteries surrounding her Father and the Crown of Lebrith. In a sewer. Covered in some of the most disgusting things ever. She closed her eyes and knew Galen was going to ask her to go first. 'Always protect the maiden. A gentleman''s curse in my book.' Luna was stubborn as a mule as she pointed up the ladder and pulled out her dagger. Galen was going up that ladder first or she'd force him up. She owed him anyway.

Ben
Ben's smile became genuinely kind "Ah Liliana Capri, a lovely name. Though I will tell you now, I'm not going on an adventure. In fact it's more of a tedious chore. You see I have to down to the sewers to capture an unsavory figure and their mage friend." Ben gave the girl a genuine warning as to where his destination will be and what his...sewer adventures will entail.

Galen
'What the hell is she doing?' He thought as she pulled a dagger. His hand instinctively pulling one of his own from its hidden shieth. There was a tense moment where he wasn't sure what to do.
"I heard something," Galen's heart froze as a mans voice rang through the silence like a bell from the great temple,"down this way." The goblins jerked in unison at the catering of metal boots on stone.
'No no no no!' Galen screamed in his mind as the creatures let out a bellowing screach. A call of the others.....the return call was even louder down the tunnels on either side of them. Back the way they came the shadows gave way to the warm orange flicker of torch light. A small squad of armor clad individuals appeared a moment later with weapons drawn as the goblins searched a war cry.
"Look sir, its them!" One of the men bellowed, pointing his sword at the duo,"just past the goblins!"
"Pig Shit!" Galen barked, drawing his steel sword in one hand and keeping the dagger in his off.'we were so close' "Quiet times over."
He looked at Luna through the dim light. "I have this group, you keep those tunnels behind us covered. No telling how many of those things will come pouring out."

Luna
Luna's eyes widened as she heard and saw the men in armor. She practically stood still as Galen took the reigns. She quickly switch from dagger to rapier, barely processing the chaos that was about to unfold. 'They're just Goblins Luna. You've killed rabbits before...these are just bigger, angrier... green rabbits. Armed with weapons.' She wasn't doing a good job convincing herself. She knew how to dodge arrows, at least she thought she did.
As the Goblins began to make their way out the tunnel, Luna took a deep breath and put her free hand behind her and clenched in a fist, raising her rapier to the tip of her nose. The first wave had appeared and she launched at them whole heartedly. With quick jabs and parries she struck down the first two with ease, but as they gained in numbers she was driven a few feet back.
'He said no magic, but if I don't...' She knew she was struggling, but she was convinced she could handle this on her own. She struck down the third, but the fourth, fifth and sixth made their own strikes. Luna barely had the time to dodge and block the strikes. She was on the edge, but she was confident.
The whistle of two arrows cracked the air. Deflecting the first with ease Luna got caught up in trying to attack one of the goblins in front of her that she took the next arrow directly in the shoulder. With the pain being that of a knife twisting into your skin quickly, Luna shouted at the top of her voice "Ezeerf!" The goblin she struck thought it just got poked in the chest. Instead it began to freeze from the point Luna had touched it from. As she fought through the pain in her left arm, she jabbed the second through the temple and swiped the thirds head off. She nearly collapsed to a knee as she faintly saw the goblins begin to fire more arrows in her direction.

Galen
Galen moved forward with a determined scowl. There were four guard standing at the entrance to the room with the initial three goblin scouts closing in on them. Galen identified the young officer by the red cloak adorning his armor. He exhailed, letting his muscle memory kick in. As the other guards were occupied with the goblins, Galen engaged the officer. It was a dance of sorts, the flashing of blades, the twists and lunges. The two men moved in a circle, probing each other with light strikes. He smiled as the officer lunged, dodging the strike with ease he brought his dagger sideways into the gap in the mans armor. The blade sunk deep between the mans ribs, a howl of pain escaping the mans lips. Galen spun and rammed his long sword through the mans back until the hilt hit metal. A tingle at the back of his skull caused him to jump back, his steel sword using the dead officer as a scabbard as he back pettaled. A second guard had killed one of the goblins and was moving for the kill. As he moved to meet this new attacker he heard Luna cry out in pain from an arrow through the shoulder.
'This isn't good.' He growled as the man swong at him wildly. Galen cought the man's sword arm with his free hand and slashed with his dagger at the mans throat. A gargled death cry followed the dark spray that splattered across Galen's chest and shoulders. He was close to Luna now, he felt the tingle a heart beat before he heard the arrows. Using all his strength he burried his dagger in the dead mans gut and used it like a handle for one hand with the other under the corps's armpit. He lifted and jumped sideways, the arrow volly peppering the corpse instead of their intended target. As Galen and the body crashed to the ground the second wave of goblins moved in on one side, the last of the guards on the other.

She chuckled a bit at him, throwing her instrument over her shoulder as she let her smirk show off her extreme confidence and lack of fear she had. "I see, I see, I understand and I like your humble nature it really fits for the song I'm going to make about this!" Liliana stated, puffing up her chest a bit and looking to the side. "but truly, don't worry about me. I will be just fine! I know we need to hunt down this Sylvaire character of course, and a mage? Pfft, they'll be no trouble for someone of your stature!"
Her elbow nudged into his side, waggling her brows at him until she couldn't take it anymore and she giggled at herself. "But yeah, I'll be fine. I'm pretty strong even if it doesn't look like it at first glance!" Liliana was about to continue but suddenly she heard something coming from deep underground rumbling through the pipes that slowly started to actually sound like... screams. Inhuman, some human, the music of battle reaching her sensitive ears as she stared down over at a nearby sewer grate.
"You hear that...?" She asked softly, slowly walking over to the sewer grate they were just about to pass "there's battle, not too far, but underground..."

Ben
Ben's smile turned small "If you're truly insistent on following this mediocre mercenary, then remain behind me. I'd hate for a young lady to be hurt by this old man's inaction." He heard the sounds of conflict in the sewers below, goblins from the sound of it now that he focused on it. He saw the nearby sewer grate and with a quick thrust of his spear and maneuver of his arm lifted the sewer grate aside and begun his descent into the putrid sewers.

Luna
Luna's breath was ragged as all she could do was watch Galen save her life. Her heart drop when she began to hear more goblins approach, along with the sound of a grate opening echo through the sewers. She knew he said not to use magic, but they were outnumbered and she was injured. 'So this is the severity of a real fight.' With pain in her arm, she struggled to even make the hand motions she had made previously to protect the old warrior. "Llaw... Eci." She got the words out just in time as a wall of ice formed at the entrance of the corridor the goblins were pouring out of. The ice was a lighter yet stronger than her first attempt, stopping the goblins for at least a few minutes. However, Luna was nearly out of breath and lightheaded, standing straight to defend herself only to collapse on her left knee, rapier dug into the ground.
She eyed the two guards that were approaching them and shot them a cold dead stare. "Lower your weapons or I will not hesitate to turn you into sculptures of ice!" She was out of her element, even yelling at people was new to her. She knew how weak she was and that she wouldn't be able to pull off her threat even at full strength. She was strongly against killing others, fighting goblins was even difficult for her. She was heavily concerned about the grate she had heard, hoping it was just an odd clang of metal.

Galen
The guards hesitated at her words, the slightest pause in their advance was all Galen needed. He rolled into a crouch yanking his dagger from the corpse as he did so while also drawing his second dagger, using his momentum he flung the daggers at the apex of his roll. The daggers stuck true. The left one buried itself into one mans throat; the other hit the second man in the mouth, punching through his teath and out the back of his neck. Galen exhaled heavily as he stood and examined the area. The wall of ice Luna had created was already cracking and there were bound to be more guards coming, they had to leave....now. Galen quickly retrieved his weapons and shiethed them before helping Luna to her feet.
"Nice bluff," he said as she stood, "if they weren't so green they may have actually saw through it." He leaned in a bit and examined the arrow wound. It was bleeding badly and she was clearly in to much pain to climb. "Listen," he said with a sigh. The only way out is up that ladder. If you think you're strong enough you can hold on to my back and I'll climb. Otherwise we'll need to go back the way we came and risk running into more people who want you dead....but it'll be easier on that wound....and judging by that wall we don't have long to decide so choose quickly."

Luna
She winced in pain, simply in awe of Galen's quick thinking. She closed her eyes when he struck the guards, however, knowing she couldn't bear to watch another die. She grunted in pain as she put a hand on Galen's shoulder. "C-c-climb." she said in obvious pain. "W-we need to g-get m-m-moving. I-I'm not th-that heavy." She was having trouble speaking. She'd fallen and bruised her knee, she fell out of a tree once and had her breath knocked out of her but this was nowhere near that in levels of pain. She was blinking more and more, her vision blurring. She began speaking to herself out loud, "So L-Luna what d-did y-y-y-you do today? Oh y-you k-know, I took an a-a-arrow into my sh-shoulder. W-was l-l-looking for a g-great f-flesh wound to t-tell my k-k-kids." She was practically wasting her breath, but she didn't care.
As Galen picked her up, he would feel as if he carrying an extremely light block of ice. Luna was shivering cold to the touch. "I-I'm s-sorry for b-b-being so c-cold." She was trying to reassure Galen this was normal but in her current state nothing was 'normal' to her. All she wanted to do was be out of this terrible place.

Galen
'Somethings not right,' he thought as he lifted the girl onto his back. 'The way her body is trembling....she couldn't have lost that much blood already...unless...' He started his assent, each rung groaning from years of poor maintenance. Galen's mind was to preoccupied to notice the slight wobble with each movement. ' could it be infection? No,to soon for that. Which means only one thing.'
"Luna," he said in the most reassuring voice one could muster while climbing a rusty ladder in total darkness with another person clinging to your back,"that arrow you took. I think it's poisoned." He paused as a rung snapped under their weight and he was forced to pull them up with his arms untill his foot found the next step.
"I don't think it was to potant, other wise you'd be dead right now but still, even a mild poison can be lethal given enough ti-" he stopped when he realized there was nothing left to reach for. The ladder abruptly vanished, the rusted and jagged edges indicated that something had torn it loose sometime ago.
"And one more thing...we're out of ladder." He groaned. Now the only way was down, back the way they came....and that meant through the goblins that had surely broken through the ice wall by now. With a heavy sigh he started back down, being extra careful not to slip when he reached the missing rung. "When we reach the bottom...whatever happens don't let go....because they'll be right on our asses."
