 (suggested by shadowknight ) Master chief is sent to investigate a UNSC Distress signal deep in covenant space. He finds that the signal is coming from an uncharted planet. His ship lands near the still burning wreckage of a Military camp in the middle of an empty, desert valley that stretches for one mile in all directions . As he enters the camp the ground starts to shake, moments later a Thresher maw shoots up from the ground (smashing into the ship MC used and knocking it over and shattering a hole on the side of impact), and launches its ambush. MC's starting load-out consists of (An Assault Rifle, Pistol, and 4 frag grenades) The Ruined UNSC Camp has weapons scattered about along with additional ammo. {Name of weapon - Number of that weapon in play} Rocket Launcher - 1 Sniper rifle(s) - 7 Assault rifle(s) - 16 Pistols(s) - 10 SMG(s) - 8 Heavy Machine gun(s) - 4 DMR(s) - 5 Chief can use whatever is in the camp and has Cortana with him. He can not leave the Valley until the Maw is killed. |

This fight is definitely gonna take a while, but that much is obvious, isn't it?
Chief Man has a chance at survival so long as he plays it smart, but the Maw has tricks and aces up its 'sleeves' somewhere.

I say as long as the Thresher Maw doesn't do it's uppercut of tank raping death MC will be fine, the moment it does that though he's fucked like Abridged Alucards Fear Turkey.

I know my Mako got onshotted by a Thresher Maw once, and it wasn't even on Insanity, the thing came up under me for it's uppercut thing and sent me flying on fire shit was crazy.

I get the feeling the best she could do is tell him it's right behind him. Hell he could probably feel it but that wouldn't help much unless he just ran.

I would hope it could detect a small earthquake otherwise it would likely be quite a sucky motion detector.

How about the Maw's ranged attack? You know, that acid crap that eats the Mako in two or three hits and damn near one shots shep on the ground.

You know its funny the only one I had the guts to fight on the ground was in Grunts loyalty mission, I never tried to kill one without the Mako in the first game because those bastards after meeting one the first time since said first time involved it one shotting the Mako...I figured the damn things were not something to fight on foot. Granted I hadn't even done a story mission yet.

Does MC's armor protect him from that kind of attack? Is it strong against an acid that eats through armored hulls?
