Alright, so I just finished going through Halo Escalation which came out yesterday. For those that haven't heard of it, it's a comic by Dark Horse set in the Halo universe right after the end of Halo 4: Spartan Ops.
*WARNING SPOILERS*
Time: March, 2558
Location: Infinity, High orbit around Earth
It starts off with Commander Sarah Palmer killing some Elites in Wargames, a virtual reality simulator room inside the Infinity akin to the holo-deck from Star Trek. She's interrupted by Captain Lasky who requests her to meet in the hanger. After she "punishes" the other Spartans for making a suggestive joke about her relationship with the captain she meets with Lasky in the hanger. Lasky and Palmer get in a shuttle and go planet-side to attend a debriefing about the incidents which occurred in Halo 4: Spartan Ops on Requiem. The security council consists of the heads of the UNSC Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines, and unfortunately ONI. Also I should note that the Marine General is hilarious fat looking compared to the others, lol! Osman (head of ONI) explodes in outrage at Lasky for disobeying her order to kill Doctor Halsey. Que epic panel of Halsey being buddy-buddy with Sangheilio's most wanted Jul M'dama...
Palmer manages to persuade Osman into believing it was her fault Halsey got away. Admiral Hood tells Osman politely to stop being such a spoiled bitch. After the debriefing Palmer and Lasky are seen jogging together on board the Infinity (so much PalmerxLasky shipping). Admiral Hood comes on board and informs Lasky of his new mission, to protect a negotiation meeting between the Arbiter Thel Vadam and the Brute Chieftain. Infinity jumps to the planet where the negotiation is taking place and is met by an armada of Covenant ships. Only one shuttle is allowed to go down there by each party, no capital ship is allowed to enter the neutral planets atmosphere. Hood, Palmer, Lasky, and a team of Spartan IVs take a shuttle to the surface where they meet with the Arbiter, the Brute Chieftain, and there respective parties. The Arbiter tries to convince the Chieftain Lydus that it would be best for everyone if Lydus would unite the Brutes and stop the hostilities between them and the Sangheili/humans. However they are interrupted by a third party of Covenant renegades that wants to continue the war. The Spartans and delegates try to fight their way out. Badass fight scene ensues.
They flee to the shuttles but before they can get to them the shuttles are destroyed by banshees. Palmer gives Arbiter a big hug as explosions fill the panels. The comic ends with a fuck-huge army of Covenant soldiers chasing after the heros.
Extras/Funnies
Some strange and/or funny things I noticed in the comic were
and finally possible SarahxArbiter shipping
Overall though it was pretty enjoyable and a hell of a lot better than the other recent Halo comics.

Extras/Funnies
Some strange and/or funny things I noticed in the comic were
- Human characters always talk with there teeth clenched.
- The planet Requiem is shown to be the same size as the main sequence star it crashes into (which would mean Requiem is around x1000 bigger than Earth lol)
- Sangheili Orphans.
- The Brute Chieftain shows up to the meeting drunk and naked, with the exception of a helmet (Im super fucking serious)
- The Covenant are constantly shown being the wrong size, at one point the Arbiter towers over the Brute Chieftain despite the Chieftain supposedly being 2+ feet taller(WTF!?)
and finally possible SarahxArbiter shipping
Overall though it was pretty enjoyable and a hell of a lot better than the other recent Halo comics.
