OH SHIT SON, WE GET TO HEAR KHAN VOICE A DRAGON.
*Ahem* However, I'm a little troubled. It seems they're going to do two things that I have a big problem with. Spoilers, if you haven't read the book and care about that sort of thing:
Firstly, it looks like they're not going to have Thranduil not throw the dwarves in prison, and otherwise work to be a roadblock to their quest, instead it looks like the elves are going to be actively helping them. This doesn't sit well with me because in the book it showed that even the flawless elves do in fact let their greed and pettiness get to them sometimes. Now, it's sounding like we're going to be treated to "Oh, you dwarves and Bilbo are great in all, but we're going to totally have the elves effortlessly overshadow your accomplishments and save you like fifty times, just so that you know who are the REAAAAALLLL heroes of Middle Earth. Here's a hint, it ain't you round ear clowns!"
And secondly (unfortunately also to do with Elves) is they look like they're going to shoehorn in a romance between a certain elvish pair. This. IS. STUPID. And not only is it stupid, it is utterly, completely unnecessary. What will it add to the story, when we're almost certain that it cannot lead to anything meaningful because it isn't important in the chronologically later LoTR films? The answer as far as I can see, is angst, moar angst, and raging shippers. I really hope Pete is able to avoid making what I fear, happen, especially since he did a pretty dang good job on the first one.
So, here's to my hopes. Let's hear yours, alongside your fears and theories on the future of this trilogy.

I'm going to go see this one! Even if all my friends turn around and go "sure!" and then NEVER. BLOODY. GO! I'll go by myself like I saw the Avengers and IM3.

Hmmm, the next thing you know is we might hear about Batman vs Gandalf.

All jest aside, wonder if the trailers will be any better, things happen for a reason.

What do you mean, "wonder if the trailers will be any better, things happen for a reason"?

If there's a change or departure from the novel, there is normally meant to be a reasonable understanding as to why its happening. Otherwise the whole matter goes to Morgoth's domain in a heartbeat, as they say. What did they name Morgoth's domain again?

He doesn't have a domain anymore.
The Valar broke his shit and locked him in the Void. I guess that's about the closest thing to a hell Tolkien created for his universe. It is also the place Sauron got shunted to when he was "killed". Eventually both of them will escape and bring about the Ardan version of Doomsday.

Why do I suspect that Robert Jordan might have clarified what Wheel of Time's response to Hell is, and feel guiltily pleased that clarity is gained?

Where is this going, Master Sarge?
Let's just focus on the release date of the movie, okay?

Hobbit was pretty good, just too long. Cumberpatch just sounds amazing. The Brits are invading our cinemas....and im okay with that.

Wonder when that guy from the first movie who antagonized the band will wind up dead, if he dies at all.
