Nah, plagiarism is too easy, and I want it to be darker/more fucked up than that.

That would be hard to do ;P But go for it xD
Though Vampirism should Cure Werewolfism like Skyrim xD for Science!

That's game mechanics imo, lycanthropy and vampirism make you immune to disease and they're both written in the code as diseases, so they cure each other. I'd go more like, the 2 strains attack each other and the victim's systems mess up and malfunction so they die horribly. Or something like that. Cause if they always became hybrids that'd be OP and everyone would do it.

I was kinda joking xD But horrible deaths are fun! If you do go that route, and the Hybrid route, make it a rare occurrence type thing.
Which I think you might have already been thinking anyway xD

Ya XD Maybe the MC because...the MC is special, because of the mighty power of plot. And the mightier still power of because I say so.
I also had a lil subversion idea of having a pair of characters with respective looks you'd assume are one and the other but they're actually the opposite.

I'm sure one could find a way around that little hiccup.
SCIENCE.

I think I may have a breakthrough of sorts. So far I'd call it a Primeval, some sort of tribal humanoid that would have evolved (or be put there by the precursors) long before the 1st proto-humans. Vamp and Menoplasto strains would have be based on their cells. This would explain why the 2 are kind of alike but unrelated. Also, the MC being one (that would awaken at the start of the story) would solve and allow many important things :
1-> she would know nothing of the modern (or at least more recent) strains so she could be the one all exposition is given to, rather than have a vamp or werewolf awkwardly narrating what they already know.
2-> she could be a bit stronger than average due to having the "original strain" so to speak, but still "weak" enough to be challenged due to not having fed for (literally) ages. Starting to feed again would also explain how she gets stronger in a much shorter time frame than the "stronger with age" other characters. She wouldn't actually be getting stronger, just getting back up to full strength technically.
3-> would give her starting objectives and introduction/development since she's not only new to the monster masquerade thing but to basically everything.
4-> would fulfill the special hax thing I like the MC to be since that allows them to reasonably win against impressive enemies instead of going "I'm a 200 years old Ripened but I can manage to defeat a 4000 years old Ancestral Warlord because I'm the protagonist, herp derp"

Nah, plagiarism is too easy, and I want it to be darker/more fucked up than that. How do you get more messed up than being a result of someone's Supernatural Project meant to Create a Black Blood Magic Knight Super-Soldier, though? I'd like to know.

I hate that so much. I can't stand when shit like that happens.

There should be a hell of a lot more to it than just because they're the Protagonist: Like some kind of awareness the Ancient enemies in question were weakened and just woke up, or something in their Births fit with a constellation at the right time, otherwise you got something no better than the cases of Master Chief or Eragon running around or something.

Little excuses like that wouldn't do Cross, there's just no way the Ripened would win in that case. I find power level consistancy very important. I also hate PIS and the like. Which is why for instance, I won't have a fight between PHANTOM or LEVIATHAN and UNIT06 until the latter gets a few upgrades. And why Kat will be saved from Uzza by her big sis Nagi.

Something tells me something bad is gonna happen to Nagi afterward, right? I find calc consistency in life-or-death matters to be vital at least half the time if it means anything.

Nah Nagi is a badass, she'll be fine ^^
Also I have some cool ancient name ideas for either Vamps or Wolves :
-> Annia, is an ancient roman name that didn't(or barely) came over to the modern world
-> Cyra, ancient persian
-> Laelia, ancient latin form of leila and such
-> Lucretia, ancient latin meaning "unknown"
-> Mahailah/Mahala, native american/old arabic
-> Minerva, ancient latin meaning "of the mind/intellect" & goddess of wisdom, invention, arts and martial strength.
-> Alala, ancient greek, sister of Ares
-> Amaranth, ancient greek meaning "unfading"
-> Ambrosia, ancient greek for "immortal"
-> Andromeda, ancient greek meaning "thinks like a man/warrior" (ancient tomboy name ftw)
-> Artemis, ancient greek for "a/the butcher", also goddess of the hunt (sounds like a psycho wolf)
-> Calisto, ancient greek meaning "most beautiful" (cause vamps are pretty and stuff)
-> Leto, ancient greek "the hidden one"
-> Maia/Maya, ancient greek "mother" (could be used for the Primeval to signify being the "mother" of the other strains)
-> Nemesis, ancient greek "righteous anger", goddess/demon of revenge
-> Zosime/Zosimos(f/m), ancient greek for "survivor"
-> Vasilis/Vasiliki(m/f), ancient greek for "king/queen" respectively
-> Persephone, ancient greek, mythological lover of Hades/the underworld, meaning "person slayer" ie. murderer.
