"Umm well they're kin-aarrhg"<They are to this era what the Mortal were to us during the Extinction> The dragon took control. "Damn you Dovah, you know how jarring that is"! Vokun yelled from the dragons "cave".

The ancient Lich growled as all he found were forest, forest, and at one point a rabbit. He still couldn't put a finger on what had happened; thus far nothing looked too out of place!
"Even a Shadowbeast would be preferable to all this forest", he grumbled as he stalked his way forward.
And then he picked up...signatures. Big ones.
"Finally, some answers", he said aloud, donning his human disguise and hurrying off.

Sir. Galen Farrel/Alpha:
Thick dark blood snaked its way down his jaw line and into his thick fur. He needed more, the night was still young and his hunger still burned with in him Alpha moved on , leaving the disturbing massacre behind. Gliding through the forest with a primal grace to him......something was on the wind, it stank of death......but the back of his mind told him it wasn't a meal. Swiftly and silently he approached hidden, he spotted a man with the death stink about him.......Alpha stalked from the shadowy under brush, curious about the creature he had found.

As Exoba exited the portal he was greeted by several weapons pointed at his face. He merely gave those who pointed their weapons at him a dry look. "Do you wish to perish this much?" As he was about to show them the foolishness of their actions a raised hand ceased both parties. As the weapons in the dark room receded into their wielders sheaths he turned his gaze towards the individual at the end of the room his gaze met that of two red eyes that were immensely pleased to see him.
"Welcome back my boy, it pleases me to see you have returned." The individual flicked his wrist and the presence of several other beings left the room. As the individual beckoned him to approach Exoba did so with practiced ease. As he neared the throne he kneel'd before his 'Master'. "My King I have returned from my mission." The Shadow King's red eyes glowed in anticipation. "Yes go on boy." Exoba shuddered slightly, this was degrading. "I..have failed." Nocturne in his mind explaining in detail what happened while he was under the Shadow King's control. "A Dragon awoke from the Half-Blood's Sub-conscious, and apprehended me for a short moment taking back the power I was able to steal and then slightly taking some of my own in the process." He bowed his head even lower to hide the annoyance in his eyes.
"I see....anything else you wish to add to your report?" The Shadow King's voice was even and Exoba couldn't identify the emotion in the Shadow King's voice..if there was any at the moment. "There was....a living Echidnean....She seemed weak at the moment. I would have engaged her but the Dragon arrived and I couldn't chance to attack the Echidne'an if the Dragon came to her aid." The Shadow King remained silent for some time. "Hmmm it seems that I have no choice then." As he stood up he gestured for Exoba to rise from his kneeling position. "Exoba I have a new mission for you." Exoba's eyes glowed for once with a positive emotion. Finally some action! "I'm yours to command my King."
The Shadow King walked towards the entrance of the Room and Exoba followed. "It seems ancient beings are awakening and I have need of you and Nocturne's particular skills." As Exoba became further intrigued. "I'm at your service, just give the command." The Shadow King exited the room and Exoba followed him down several halls until they reached a large Balcony over an Open Area. "Nocturne's unique powers shall be put to the test, you must search the lands that we have conquered. Find any and all ancient beings and persuade them to join us or...drain them of their powers to bolster your own." Exoba nodded his head in affirmation in the command. 'The Fool! He's giving me the opportunity to betray him on a silver platter!' The Shadow King flourished his hand as beneath the High Balcony was a Large force of Shadow Beasts. "This shall be your personal force to command. Do not fail me Exoba, I expect reports after each discovery." With that the Shadow King walked back inside and Exoba merely grinned a Cheshire cat grin.
'And he has sealed his own doom.' He could almost break into laughter at this point. Deceit truly was delicious! He opened a portal to the ground and walked through and watched his forces as they awaited his orders. He weaved a stallion from the Shadows and mounted it with much enthusiasm. He moved towards the entrance of the Might Fortress. "Forward March!" He moved at a sedate pace allowing his forces to keep a steady pace with him.
'Soon he shall Rue the day he dared to manipulate Exoba Zelraiya."

Neroth stopped in his tracks and hissed again; a presence had gotten close to him somehow...and he didn't like it. "I feel you", he said as a tiny ball of condensed fire formed in one hand, "You cannot hide from me. Come out and show yourself, lest I strip you of your cover myself."

Sir. Galen Farrel/Alpha:
The darkness was broken by the small flame in the creatures hand......'Magic...' Alpha thought. It made sense now, the primordial power, the corpse walker with magic.....' Lich....not pray.' The curiosity of both Galen and Alpha were sated. As to its challenge, Alpha moved forward just enough for the light to cast across his face and reflect in his eyes , causing a redish orange glow effect, and gave a low growl of warning before slipping back into the forest night.

Neroth watched the creature peer at him for a moment before it slipped away, vanishing from normal sight.
"A wolfman...and not a normal one", he murmured as he felt the presence move away. What one had been doing out here he couldn't fathom...but it couldn't be good. The wolfmen were not known for such things as mercy...or concerned about what they killed.
He had a bad feeling he'd meet the creature again in the future...but for now he did not pursue, and instead moved off to the other signatures he could feel.

Vokun-dovah sighed. <Then come with me, the boy has a group on a journey to the Old tower>

<They are around here>. The dragon leered over the Vampire. <But heed my words, if you prove to be a nuisance i will show you just how pathetic partial immortality is>. He gets his helm close to her face. "While you lack your Heart...*He lets his faceplate open, baring his fangs.* I still have my tongue..*his face becomes scaled then reverts back* & I can still become a true Dovah". *the faceplate closes* Vokun sits before the wall in the "cave". 'Well thats one helluva bluff'. He thought.

Neroth pauses as he draws yet nearer to the magical signatures, reflexively gripping his long-depleted Ice Staff. Proxmity revealed not two, but three signatures, two of them very known to him....that odd dragon boy, Vokun or something, and the being that lurked inside. The third was unknown, yet even then felt ancient and familiar, tingling the back of his mind as the Lich sifted through a myriad of memories to identify it. It was close to what Neroth believed himself, or at least another Lich, to feel like, but not quite...
His form shifted briefly, causing the dead mage to be distracted by his pondering to keep his disguise up. Nothing would be done sitting here to think...he would have to see this personally. Besides, maybe the new one knew why Neroth's environment felt off.

As the large task force forged onward Exoba was deep in thought. 'These lands could be filled with untold secrets, secrets I could use. Perhaps I should g- ah. Wait why go digging for unknown possibilities when I may simply scour the definitive locations with possible answers I seek.' He chuckled as his plan already began to weave itself in his mind. His focus returned to the rest of the world as he plotted his course towards the ruins of the second tower. Having a map of the entire continent was never truly as useful as it was now.
