Scenario: The Vault Hunters (Roland, Lilith, Brick, Mordecai, Maya, Salvador, Axton, Zero, Gaige, & Krieg) swap universes with Commander Shepard and a few of her team (Liara, Wrex, Garrus, Samara, Grunt, Ashley, Legion, Tali, & Zaeed) .
The Vault Hunters appear on the Normandy shortly after the events of Mass Effect 2 while Shepard & Crew appears on Pandora just before the events of Borderlands 2.
The only way for either group to return to their own time line is by completing the main quest of each others game. (Vault hunters have to stop the reapers while Shepard and Crew take on Handsome Jack.)
What happens to each group?

Why no Pre-Sequel Vault Hunters? Might help.

Why no Pre-Sequel Vault Hunters? Might help. I haven't played the Pre-Sequel and so did not want to use characters I wasn't familiar with.

Well Renegade Shepard deals much harsher with various individuals in the Borderlands world, probably makes more enemies than allies, but overall shouldn't have any problems with what Pandora has to offer considering their abilities and the gear they can find, Wrex and Grunt would probably feel right at home on Pandora.

how do you think the Vault hunters would react to the Mass Effect universe?

they'd wonder why everything they kill doesn't drop loot true, lol. I wonder how this would change the outcomes of each game. Could Shepard and crew stop Jack and the Warrior? Will the Vault Hunters be able to stop the Reapers? (oh, and the Vault Hunters appeared on the Normandy so.........Joker and Edi will be freaking out.)

Are both sides debriefed or anything on what their situations are? - I think the Vault Hunters can get to the point the Catalyst is in play easily enough, the big problem is what will they do when they get there. Shepard and Co have an easy enough time getting there if they make the same allies the canon Vault Hunters did.

Vault Hunters could probably take Reapers straight up considering they can take god-like final bosses and raid bosses

I mean, I would think even the "good guys" on Pandora would start taking shots at the alien crew members due to them looking like monsters to the Pandorians.

Might just require Shepard going into towns alone at first.
