The opposition they will unite against will be The Cursed Wave, represented by the 8 Phases themselves, hailing from the dot hack(.hack) Universe and in Virus Core-era incarnations. Before we begin, we will discuss the locations of the match-up, and in any case know that both sides will pull no punches and neither grant nor expect any quarter from the opposition. Both sides will be existing in the same reality-plane, this neutral battleground will essentially result from a fusion of both sides' home domains. Any questions? dassadecKnukailsMugiwaraBlairTrue to form, I decided to create this vs match aide thread where we can plan out on how to polish and refine any bugs in the system, any kinks or flaws in need of ironing out and whatnot. Basically you can ask questions regarding both sides as you see fit.

Gee cross, I would really like to help out here and chime in, but I literally know next to nothing about both franchises Blair and Knukails are other animals entirely, they've at least studied Side A if I'm not wrong. I am willing to share what I recall with Side B when they arrive, then. Thanks for arriving, I feared becoming a broken record.

Okay, define the geography for me. You mean for discussing fight locations, right? Usually with most of the 8 Phases, they managed to either turn the very grounds they're being fought at into another Wasteland or they're able to teleport themselves and their enemies into the Wasteland in question. The GoW gods and titans strike me as being able to adapt to their environments, is that about right?

I would say so. The only one outside his area would be Poseidon but i would think he could make an ocean for himself.

I guess I'll go show you the two vids I mean, no doubt both will be integral to show you what I mean. Warning that there may be spoilers abound, yet compared to later on this isn't too bad.

The first vid shows you how the presence of the 8 Phases would generally be known to result in Reality-Warping all on its own, yes?
The following vid will show you more, actually. A lot more and not all of it will be pleasant.

So this...reality warping, Does just teleport people or can it tear them apart? Its been years since I played so much as the first two Virus Core era dot hack games, keep in mind that just teleporting/sending people somewhere else is just one of the two examples of Reality-Warping at work from the 8 Phases. Each of the Phases also have other powers, but their presence taking the people to fight them somewhere else or the Illegal Power they possess in question aside, what else are they capable of, I cannot recall at the moment as far as their Virus Core era incarnations are concerned. Though if Side A doesn't watch it, they'll wind up on the receiving end of Divide-and-Conquer and learn the hard way why its not in reason to underestimate Side B, really. The other is in the form of the Illegal power used against Orca of the Azure Seas, and yes all 8 Phases have this Illegal Power in question. It should also be of note that, as far as I recall the Illegal Power in question cannot kill the intended victims just by hitting the target on its lonesome, 9 times out of 10. Its still not reasonable to want to be hit in the first place, though.

Alright first off these 8-phases are the strangest beings I've ever seen and that's saying alot. Second off what's this 'illegal Power'?

Alright first off these 8-phases are the strangest beings I've ever seen and that's saying alot. Second off what's this 'illegal Power'? Its known as The Data Drain attack. If you wanna imagine illegality, think of it as being akin to the Potter-world Unforgivable Curses essentially, in that anyone who gets hit will be feeling the Supernatural effects of an attack like that. Not pleasant to get hit with, Trust me. ___ So you studied God of War, yes?

Yeh to an extent. What ya need? What do the gods and titans of GoW have to offer in terms of reality-warping or weapons? This will be vital to know, at least when it comes to the cases that can actually fight, really.

Reality-Warping...well there is none. Yeah pretty much the extent to what I could see is:Zeus with Blade of Olympus vanishing titans to Tartarus. (Not sure if it even counts). That's pretty much it....Yeah the Gods aren't really that impressive. But weapons there's: Blade of Olympus the most powerful weapon in all of GOW. The Gauntlet of Zeus:The weapon that chained the titans to the walls of Tartarus. Blade of Artemis:As you guessed a large cumbersome blade used by Artremis. Though cumbersome may be just due to Kratos wielding it. Claws of Hades: Originally wielded by hades that tears out the very soul of beings who are 'impaled' by the blades. Allows hades to call forth legions of the dead as well as undead beasts using the claws powers. That's what's I got so far.
